Habitat: City park in wood chips.
location: west of hyw 17 north 85
gills: Young light grey / tan older tan
stem: Firm 3 cm Len .5 cm think. Bends without snapping mostly.
spore print: under way. Update when available.
scent: None I can describe or nothing noticeable
bruising: bottom of the stem appears to be black then a bit of tan / brown. Cap bell shape with top lighter as well as the cap edge. No apparent brusing On cap.

Thank you. Just want to learn and soak in as much data my brain can hold. Since no noticeable bursing i still wanted to key it out to see how off my id was with what feedback posted by the best people like you. Every day I feel like if I learned one thing new about mushroom id it's a good day.

While it is really blackish, mycologists have specific terms for different colors and this is what they would call a purple spore color. Its more of a purple/brown to purple/black really, but not the true jet black of Panaeolus and some other genera which have no brown or purple hues.
