Transplanting poppies
    #2386591 - 02/28/04 02:45 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

Will transplanting poppies definately result in failure? I was thinking of starting some early indoors. I was given a mature poppy plant(not stramonium) and it took well in my garden with good care. I was wondering how well the narcotic varieties would transplant, and how mature it should be before doing so.

Iv transplanted them with limited success. I wouldnt say that it will DEFINITELY result in failure, but they really do hate being transplanted.

poppys grow pretty fast man. probably can get in 2 crops. dont need to start them inside. but why not try i guess cant really waste the seeds.

they are very flimsy and hrd to transplant unless there almost full grown.

never relly tried though but i know if u touch the spraots at all they die
