Is it too late for hunting on Vancouver Island South?
    #23863038 - 11/24/16 09:22 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

After finally finding some cyans i'm having trouble kicking the habit of hunting for fungi!

I have learned of a place which supposedly has plenty of libs and a few cyans here and there, but we've had a couple (very gentle) frosts.

Am I wasting my time?

First Cyan (indeed first wild Psilocybe of any kind) that I ever did find! Oddly enough, she was alone, in a fairly dark coloured mix of compost and soil, where as every other cluster since was in light/alder type chips!

Any time outdoors enjoying and learning about nature is not wasted.

I was also wondering the same about Nova Scotia, hopefully it isn't too late but if not it's the best time for day long hikes :costanza:

I agree completely that any time spent outdoors is not wasted, but I would still appreciate an answer to the question.

Are libs and/or cyans still viable to find this late in the season when near Victoria on Vancouver Island? I found some cyans (all quite blue by then) 4 or 5 days ago, but saw no pins or immature fruit.

Thanks for the answer.
