Not too bad, right?

here's the beginning of a beautiful thing.

here's a drying process that probably was botched a little. is 2-3 days in front of a fan and in regular room light bad?

to get them cracker dry, the forum instructed to put a black shirt over the space creatures and shine a light at them. this was done for about 2 hours with a 6500K bulb (lol hopefully that wasnt overkill, the light was pretty damn close) but they're for sure dry as hell, sitting in a widemouth jar in the back of the fridge. just barely 3 dried grams for the 1st flush. not much i know, but the once cake had a contaminant that i wasnt aware of, noticed as i was scraping the outer layer off with a fork (is this okay? i read that it was...the cakes are still repairing themselves)
i removed the nastiness, now it seems to be fine. hopefully it will have more than aborts this time. do these look healthy for a 2nd flush?

Did you wait for consolidation for a week after the cakes finished colonization?

yuup sure did, they consolidated for at least 7-8 days, there were mushrooms growing in-vitro but i didn't panic and just let them keep going.
it looks like the cakes are doing well, they smell fine and are def still alive so im hoping to see some more pins here soon, was just fishing for a 2nd opinion on how this little project has turned out.
i know there's a lot i fucked up on throughout each process but im gonna keep trying cause this is a fun and rewarding hobby. this brf tek should be super easy for me with a few more tries

Brf tek is indeed easy and fun; and it's a good way to get to know the organism you're working with -it's life cycle, needs etc.
btw did you dunk and roll?
