Baking vs pressure cooking hpoo in jars...

I'm getting my hpoo ready for my mono and I'm going with six jars full of a hpoo gypsum vermiculite distilled water blend. Can I bake them at 170 for an hour? I saw a video where a guy put them in a pressure cooker with water for an hour and used a candy thermometer to mind the temp. What do you suggest?

I bought a candy thermometer and got it to about 170 to 180 and let it pasteurize for about an hour with the lid on. I got it dialed in by keeping it on various knob settings and letting it sit for about five or ten minutes then taking the top off and checking the temp. On my stove top, the setting needed to be between 1.5 and 2 (on a 1 to 7 range top) to keep the temp around the jars at about 170 to 180 degrees. I kept them in there for about an hour. Sound good???

Pasteurization is 140-160 for 1 hour, personally I much prefer 140-150 tops, anything higher and you're just killing off beneficial microbes. 170-180 is sterilization temperatures.

These are picks of the tubs after about 5 days apiece. One of them is colonizing better than the other. Do they look on track to you guys?

Thanks! I've had some difficult tubs in the past. I'm also moving and I'd like them done on time. Lol... sort of a joke in this hobby...
