It makes sense. The largest animal to ever be on the planet earth is the modern Blue Whale. It also happens to use the least amount of energy to obtain the most amount of food of any animal that we know of, past or present. While an oxygen rich environment might be the reason for large insects, that doesn't necessarily translate to reptiles, birds and mammals.
One could argue that those land animals (dinosaurs, large mammals) had a lot of time to evolve to the sizes they were, as big size was a survival trait, but died out during mass extinctions as nutrients were more scarce and reproduction rates in larger animals are much slower. If we went tens of millions of years without a massive comet impact like that of 65 million years ago, 35 million years ago and (possibly) 12 thousand years ago (which is what I'd consider to be the time of the great flood from what I've read myself) - or large volcanic events like that of 65,000 years ago , you'd likely see more large animals. But while being large is a survival trait when things are good, it takes a lot of time to get to that size when everything dies out, and being large is a hinderance when such events take place.
Large animals are often products of their environment. You don't see many extremely large animals on small islands, only in large interconnected continents and the ocean.

Billions? I don't think that's true.

What about the epic of gilgamesh and the sumarian kings list?

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Yeah I think atmospheric oxygen levels are a big limiting factor for insect size because their means of getting oxygen to body tissues are too inefficient when scaled up to bigger sizes. Vertebrates circulate oxygenated blood to wherever it's needed, so atmospheric oxygen levels aren't as relevant to achieving extreme sizes.

yes I trust the bible , before the planet was poisoned by sin it was entirely possible to live that long.

I wouldn't be moving towards a vegan lifestyle if it wasn't for Genesis 1:29.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
I feel better than ever since I quit consuming meat, dairy, and eggs. There's definitely something to it.

Shiithead said: How do you explain giant humans or dinosaurs if it has been at stable levels for Billions of years??
The size of an organism has absolutely nothing to do with the relative oxygen level and pretty much everything to do with nutrition after you take into account the structural limits of the skeleton. Humans are at their largest size ever in our history because our nutrition has never been better.
Actually the part about our nutrition being better, on average, now more than ever is a falsity perpetuated by our mono-agricultural society.
Modern anthropologists have shown that primitive man had a far more nutritious diet than previously expected that consisted of leafy greens, red fruits high in phytochemicals, and protein found in game that grazes on the same thing.
The average diet today consist mostly of grain, to support a grotesquely expanding population, processed foods, and Monsanto fruits and veggies. I mean our food pyramid even lists grain as the base of a good diet when research has shown that grain is actually not very nutritious and that man was never meant to be a grass eater in the first place. It is a fairly well known fact that our reliance on grain agriculture sprang up because of a demand for an easily producible and cheap food source to feed an ever expanding population.
Although our food availability and production is at its highest, our actual nutrition probably isn't. Most people today probably don't even cook the majority of their own meals..
Yes we live longer today, which is against fundamental Christian beliefs but it's true, but I attribute that more to our medical advances and less to the nutritional content of our food.

yes I trust the bible
Very ironic, you're talking about putting trust before consideration in the same breath as calling a lack of consideration "ignorance".
Is ignorance a state of "ignoring"? Lack of consideration?
How much critical analysis do you think the bible would hold up to, if you considered that it might not be true and your trust in it is misplaced?
