Red wine and weed?

TL;DR at the end if you cbf.
To start off, I'm an everyday smoker and am not a novice when it comes to alcohol and weed, usually I'll have a couple scotches accompanied with a cone or two, I am however, a novice with red wine, but I believe alcohol is alcohol all the same and don't believe rum causes x buzz and whisky causes y buzz etc. But after this I want some input from anyone who knows if red wine and marijuana have a particular synergy unlike other forms of alcohol.
So the other day a friend came over with some pretty questionable, crumbly, dry, low quality looking weed. I was pretty skeptical as to whether it would be any good, considering we always get pretty decent heads.
We had a bowl each and I must say, despite the look, smell and general quality based on looks etc. It was pretty decent. About an hour later we had a small glass of red wine, like about how much whiskey you'd pour into a tumbler glass, about a double shot. About 40 minutes later we smoked another bowl.
We were watching East bound and down, and I could not stop giggling (way more so than normal) it was reminiscent of the giggles I'd have on LSD or mushrooms, I couldn't stop if I tried. The high was much more insightful and generally much more psychedelic and longer lasting to the point I thought the weed may have been laced (it wasn't).
So the only other variable that was different was the red wine. Another side note, I felt buzzed until I went to sleep hours later after keeping my SO up with countless laughing fits and went on to wake up at 3am in the toilet with no recollection of how I got there.
Is there a specific mechanism within the body that works with red wine and marijuana specifically? I do recall a thread on here saying about using red wine with shrooms as an alternative to lemon tek.
I tried the same weed the following night without wine or any alcohol and didn't have anything similar happen. If anyone can shed any insight on what may have happened, it would be greatly appreciated! I will try again when I get more weed to see if I have similar results.
TL;DR Had red wine for the first time along side some shitty quality weed and received a way longer lasting, psychedelic high and woke up in the toilet unaware how I got there haha. Is there a special synergy with weed and red wine I don't know about?
Cheers

Alcohol in general makes THC absorption easier.

I'm aware of that. I usually have 2-3 scotches along with a couple cones and I've never had this effect. Nor have I with beer or any other alcohol.

Alcohol isn't all the same, whiskey and tequila have a different affect on me and my many friends. Some friends always get violent or agitated while drinking certain spirits, Rum kinda sets me off. Everyone knows alcohol increases the effects of weed and vice versa, just like smoking weed if you're tripping changes up the high and intensifies it. This is well know by anyone who's ever drank and then smoked. Sometimes you just laugh more than other times, I highly doubt a glass of red wine will produce the same effect every time. I have drank tons of red wine and smoked tons of insanely strong weed in a legal state. Each time wasn't the same exact high if that makes sense.

I'm 99.9% sure alcohol is alcohol just like MDMA is MDMA regardless of whether it's in a press or crystal. Regardless of that, the question at hand. I have drank many times with different forms of alcohol and smoked and never ever have I had this effect.
It was the highest I've been from weed in ~5 years. Could have been a random one off thing I guess. I just thought there could have been something to it as I've heard of it being used in place of lemon tek. Well whatever happened, it was fun af

Red wine goes with everything.
I love red wine, currently don't drink anything, but when I used to drink found reds to be my favorite (Pinot noir, Syrah).
Just don't drink to much and smoke, then you'll get the spins and puke.

Maybe the wine itself had more than just ethanol in it?
