Contaminated? Cobweb?

Hey, relatively new grower here. Until now I haven't had a single issue with contamination except for a couple of jars. I'm trying to grow white oysters in a bucket and it's been colonising for about 10 days now. I took a peek to see how it's going and I'm pretty sure this isn't mycelium on top. Since it looks like cobwebs......??
A positive ID and some advice would be great. Cheers.

It is indeed a cobweb mold, they like high-humidity, low FAE environments, so you should check your air exchange; don't choke the substrate.
spraying it with a hydrogen peroxide & water mix can buy you some time against cobweb but it is not a cure, the mold usually comes back after a while.

No problem at all .) Remember that it's more important to find out how it got contaminated in the first place than trying to cure it. Maybe didn't pasteurize properly? Or the environment was not clean enough? Or didn't use gloves (or washed hands regularly) when mixing the spawn with the substrate.
If you find that out, your chances avoiding contaminants again will reduce greatly.

For the future, fill that bucket slightly overflowing so you squish it down some when you put the top on.

Do you have pictures of the spawn you used?

No, but it was clean. no sign of bacteria or mold. smelled good. just mixing up substrate in trays on the floor because I have no space. despite that, still my first infection.

If it takes longer than 10 days to colonize, something is up with your spawn. That sub doesn't look too wet.. If you had clean, healthy spawn it should have ripped through that shit, especially when the species is oysters, literally one of the most aggressive species. Oysters survive contaminations much easier than cubensis. For it to have contaminated, there must be some insane shit in there, ya feel me?
This isn't fruiting conditions, this is colonization, so extra Fae/less humidity isn't the solution, considering this cobweb friendly environment is the exact environment we use for colonization. This has to be spawn related.
Companies pay big bucks to people who can produce clean spawn. If it was as easy as "they smelled fine and looked white" then literally anyone could do it.
BTW everything I make gets mixed on the floor. You don't need to be sterile at all when spawning. RR even says you can scratch your ass and sneeze and cough all over the substrate. If it contaminates first flush or earlier, work on your spawn.
It's really too bad you don't have pics .. I'd love to help diagnose shit.
