Quitting smoking cured my depression 3

I had no idea there was a relationship between smoking and depression, until I quit. My mental state went from fucking dark to, I am almost afraid to say it: happy. And it was like immediate too, I quit smoking and felt good within two or three days, and it never returned. I looked up depression and smoking on google and was shocked there was a ton of info. That should be a warning on the pack, may make you depressed as hell. I thought my depression started in puberty but that was when i started smoking. Seriously if you smoke and are depressed quitting is the first thing you should try.

I noticed the same thing, I think smoking was stressing my body out, which makes sense, so I quit a few years ago and it's been amazing, have not had the urge to smoke since then, and have not relapsed.
Congrats on quitting.

It's cuz there are AMMONIUM SALTS IN TAILORED TOBACCO!!!!!

Quote:
Philip Morris and other tobacco companies have been using ammonia in their manufacturing for more than half a century, and for a variety of purposes: to highlight certain flavors, to expand or “puff up” the volume of tobacco, to prepare reconstituted tobacco sheet
Quote:
"Increase the bioavailability of nicotine by adding alkalising ingredients which increase the pH of tobacco (such as ammonium compounds). At higher pH (pH >8.0) more nicotine is in its free uncharged form, which would therefore more easily pass the (lung) membrane i.e. higher absorption leading to higher blood and brain nicotine levels. For details see section 3.8.3.2 on ammonia and other compounds affecting smoke pH." http://ec.europa.eu/health/scientific_committees/opinions_layman/tobacco/en/l-3/5.htm
I'm now 8 days without tobacco I'm happy to smoke green plant matter but I don't want to smoke ammonium salt toxins such as those in tailored tobacco.

If you want to quit, then hell yeah, good on you.
But if not, have you considered growing your own?

Like I would consider organic tobacco if I knew it had 0 additives but I'm not keen on waiting to grow my own anything.
