I don't think you should leave them in there for two weeks, why? I dunno, call it intuition. I would case them or put them in a terrarium. If you put em in a terrarium, make sure they have gas exchange or somethin might happen. If you case em, they should be fine for about two weeks if you use a top layer that is slightly thicker than 1/2 in., make it 3/4 in or 1 in. That's all I know, good luck!

I hate it when I forget to say all I wanna say, anyway, if you case them, you can leave them covered and you don't need to worry about gas exchange, and when you come back all you gotta do is keep the lids off and mist 2-3 times a day.

Which casing method would you suggest my friend do, he was wondering which might work best and cause the least amount of aborts?

About all that you can do is to put them in the fridge. You can case them but you are going to need a system of humidification and air exchange. Otherwise you are going to come home to some really weird looking mushrooms. That is if you don't come home to a mess of green mold.
