first hunt, help ID?
    #23857028 - 11/22/16 11:27 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Hello all... Just went for my first hunt. Came across over ten different types ... Only harvested a few to start. I'm hoping someone can help me ID what I found.

Species #1

Habitat: grassy southwestern slope, clearing near oak trees. Cows occasionally graze there.

Gills:light brown

Stem: off white no noticeable bruising

Cap: brown with white coloration

Bruising: none to speak of

General location: Napa valley

Spore print light brown

I welcome any thoughts on what these might be? Thanks in advance!

unfortunately those are all inedible, the orange ones are galerinas and are deadly poisonous, you will learn to hate them. I am not sure about the species of the other ones but I am sure that they are neither edible nor magic

Your pictures aren't really good enough to make a proper identification.

The orange-y ones might be a Tubaria species. They might also be a Laccaria species.

Good, clear well-lit close up pictures are a must. You could start out adjusting
the white balance, choose one or two specimens of each kind you got there and
take some close up shots.

Welcome to the Shroomery! :toast:
