Cake fruiting in grow bags?
    #23856662 - 11/22/16 09:39 AM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Im a bit annoyed at this but basicaly Joel has fucked up my sgcf and put a huge crack in somehow and that was my only box, all I have now are grow bags, could you like, fruit a cake in a grow bag like in a sgcf, like fill the bottom of the bag with perlite and rest the cake on tin foil?

Cheers aj

Perlite only works in the SGFC because there's holes beneath it. Perlite in the bottom of a bag or tray is useless.

Just fruit them in the bag or tape the SGFC up

Aren't growboxes based on this principle? Perlite only in the bottom of a unicorn bag and on in the growbox?

Regards

Cheers, so just leave the cake on some tinfoil or something and just keep the bag humid?

I never did that, but the answer of bodhi wondered, because all growboxes base on this principle and I also wanted to try that for experimental trays instead of putting them in a SGFC.

I think Perlit as a water reservoir on the bottom of a unicorn grow bag and than a cake on top (with tinfoil inbetween) should work, because all in one grow boxes also work with this. But I am a noob and maybe I'm wrong.

If bodhi says no, trust him, actually I don't know any situation where his recommendation was wrong!

who the fuck is joel? if its swim then i hate you.

just tape the sgfc up. like whats even the thoughts of doing anything else.
use any tape. putting perlite in a unmodified tub will provide some
humidity of sorts but you need fresh air. who cares about humidity if you
have no fresh air. like being on a wonderful paradise of a beach... but you cant breathe.

fanning and fresh air are different things.
in terms of fresh air, fanning is more like air replacement.

fanning is done to help evaporate moisture of the myc to induce pinning.

you need a passive air flow for fresh air exchange. thats what a sgfc does.
mono tubs work different but similar in the fact air flow is encouraged with
dailing in of the holes.
