TBM White/Black spots appearing
    #23855978 - 11/21/16 11:25 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Hello you fine people, I'm new to the whole growing and taking care of cacti game so not sure if I should be worried about the white and black spots that are appearing on my TBM.

I bought him a week ago from a nursery and I don't recall him having this many spots. He did have the big black one in the first picture but more seem to be developing. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not? Any advice or knowledge you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

they look like scars/scabs to me, but the little black dots in the last photo on the right segment may be something else

The black spots are probably just the typical weeping rot that trichs are prone too.
I'd be more concerned with the small bullseye marks, could be scale insect.

Unfortunately it appears to be getting worse. I thought that he may not be getting enough light so I moved him to a spot that gets direct and indirect sunlight all day but it hasn't seemed to help.

Will I need to cut off the rotting section, or will the cactus heal on its own? Also are the bigger black spots anything to worry about?

Dont do anything to that cactus. Nothing. It is fine. Flashback to years whe i had one. Not necessary. I lost mine cause i cut it. And it got rot because of the surgery. Terible. Leave it alone is all im saying.
