Quick COIR question.

So I want to do Damion5050's coir tek. I don't have a bucket and lid. Does anyone see any issues if I use my PC and its lid as the bucket(its like 32Qt)? My only concern is it may cool to quickly in the metal PC, but the again many people on here talk about COIR being contam resistant, and we only heat it to "break down" some so mycelium can colonize it. Just looking for some experienced 2cents so I don't fuck my mini mono's from the start.

Just keep in mind that the brick will expand to roughly 8-10 quarts in volume. Make sure that your PC is big enough to allow this. I've also heard some people swear by cooking the coir on low heat for a bit
But you're right it shouldn't matter.

Your aight, it wont cool that fast, it will stay within the pasteurisation temp for a while, you can even test it your self just to be sure.
Measure the temp of the water and put it in the PC...return to it after an hour or 2 and check the temp if its still within the acceptable range for pasteurisation

I always use coolers for my pasteurisation, even for poo lol.
Just clean it with dish soap or what ever liquid soap.
But what ever is in there will get pasteurised too. Either way, better safe then sorry..

Well its not a lot of a rush, but I am working around work schedule and don't want to leave spawn in jars to long, don't want it to loose vigor, not even sure how long that would take. But hey I got 12 jars of beautiful spawn and some bricks of coir arriving today.

You don't have to stick to a bucket, a cooler or whatever would work just fine. Your PC could work too, just remember to use a wooden or plastic spoon to stir so you don't scratch up your PC.
On the other hand, finding a a free bucket shouldn't be too hard if you really want one. Restaurants and delis will usually give away food grade buckets if you look around.

Forgot to mention that i always use pillows, people say it leeches some nutes, but i still use it, cus most of the nutes come from the grain itself.
