Laundry basket not doing so good

I made a post the other day expressing concern for my oyster laundry basket. I am still having issues with it. I know where I messed up. I am so used to growing cubensis in monotubs so I never thought about watering the laundry basket. Anyways, I started watering it, and the pins are stalled out. On top of being stalled out, they are in a massive clump, and are only pinning on top. Through my repeated watering, I have been unsuccessful with getting moisture in the substrate.
Is there any tricks aside from dunking to really set in moisture in the sub? I don't want to dunk with there being pins. I feel like lack of moisture within my sub is the main issue.

Does the pic look okay to you? There hasn't been much advancement in the last 2 days, an typically once it starts pinning, it takes right off. This grow isn't the case

If you don't want to dunk, you could try a slow drip. Take a clean milk jug and put a pin hole in bottom so it barely drips and set it in basket. Or drip under a faucet. Soaker hose principle. Hopefully it will soak in off time.

The outsides have dried out too much to colonize, hence the center patch and center fruiting. You might have plants growing in your substrate, check my reply to another post.

What reply am I looking for exactly. When I spawned, I put a trash bag over it and cut slits for FAE, and then waited for it to be 100% colonized. It started pinning before I took off the trash bag. I did find a couple blades of grass coming out. What interference would that have on the mycelium/fruiting/performance of the grow?

The blue coloured "Reply", the blue means it is a weblink. Just pull the grass out, the roots do some damage.

Lol, I understood that. I was asking if there was a reply in particular that I was looking for on that post. I read through them all. I don't necessarily know if I seen anything for my particular issue. I'm gonna read back through to see if I missed something.

Get a 50-60 liter laundry basket, and some 80 liter clear bin bags. You will also need a length of wood or similar. Place the basket inside the bag, the opening is to one side, tie the slack end off, cut slots everywhere.
Cut an "H" on the top of the basket, use the wood in the middle to support the flaps. Add holes or more slots to the top flaps, use like a SGFC, add perlite.
You can add more slots or holes as you go if needed.
----
Just note the design and adjust.

That's what I did for colonization. Covered the laundry basket with a trash bag, cut holes for GE, waited until 100% colonized and pinning, then put into fruiting conditions. Water daily, it's outside, and gets brought in at night if/when the temp is gonna drop low

The patch of pins in the middle have done nothing since they popped up. I feel like this should've pushed out a couple pounds according to my last grow. Something has got to be wrong. (Nevermind the broken caps..my daughter got ahold of them momentarily)

Looks pretty dry, are you misting at all, and how stable is the humidity?
