Animal messing up outdoor bed

Hey all
I go check my outdoor shroom bed earlier (coco coir, verm, crumbled brf, and straw) and i noticed the myc that has been colonizing was showing and kind of out of the cover of the coir. Than i noticed a small hole maybe 3 inches in diameter.
So, my question is how can i make sure no more critters mess with it?

a non lethal way of deterring pest would be using coyot pee or any other type of predator urine.

i've had major battles with rodents tearing apart my outdoor patches (kinda like Bill Murray as the groundskeeper in 'Caddyshack')...at first i tried building a 1/4 inch wire mesh cage that went about 3'' into the ground on the perimeter, but they tunneled under that. Then tried using pf cakes instead of grain but they surprisingly had an appetite for the brf as well.
Finally had to add a bottom section to the cage with a small opening cut out on top (so i could flip it open for access to the inside, then close back shut). This was then set 4 inches below the ground, so the substrate and casing level would come up even with the surrounding soil (with about an inch of dirt layered on the bottom of the cage). This is what finally worked, although the fuckers still continued to reach into the perimeter of the cage and tear up the outer 2 inches, so i had to make a final modification with a 2 inch wide dirt barrier on the inside perimeter of the cage.
Btw these patches were done in the forests of Hawaii, where rodents can be really problematic, depending on the time of year. The funny thing is that initial patches i did during the winter months were untouched and i thought i had it made, until around the end of spring when it started getting warmer at night (the critters become alot more active during the spring and summer months)

Dog piss? Since alike coyotes they mark their territory? Possibly stupid logic but idk.

From all the camping I have done I know human piss works. I'd try to just urinate around the perimeter. Natures got it now though.

this is one of the other things i tried that didn't work ...i actually brought a jug full of my own piss and spread it around the outside of da patch (after reading somewhere about how it's supposed to be an effective method). I think at that point the moles were starting to laugh at me...

Your piss smelled like plastic bottle bro.... once they know where the food is at...they get hungry again....
OP needs A cat patrol now, but they will dig and shit in the patch.

UPDATE- took a piss around the perimeter a few days ago and no more problems. Nothing like marking your territory.
