Looks waterlogged, soggy, with some ex-puff balls that went kinda green to me...Man, I dug and dug and dug for some answers here.
Bottom line...What is the diagnosis here?

Help a brother?
Background: So I spawned bags, added to HP that was pasteurized. Waited 10 days then introduced to FC...Here is where I think I went wrong...I misted in a hybrid tub. Pretty sure the humidity dipped below range, but the sub had yellow pooling that I hoped would absorb. I thought bringing down Temps after full colonization would protect the cakes. Then I got some fuzzy looking balls which I thought were knots. That's the 3 spots that look greenish.

That just looks bruised and bacterial.

So that contam could have happened anywhere between spawn-to-sub and somewhere after introducing to FC?
I went with the theory the spawn/sub intro was pretty safe. The spawn/sub didn't even see ambient air particulates until after 10 days of incubation.

The spawn is exposed the momentit came out from the bags and was mixed with the substrate. It doesn't matter (greatly) if you kept it closed during incubation or not, what matters is if the substrate was pasteurized properly and kept in ideal conditions. Keeping it too wet (misting more than the substrate's needs) may cause bacterial growth.
But the most important question is, was your spawn clean? Did you do grains, how long did you PC, did you inoculate with spore syringe, LC or agar?

Thanks bro. Bought the bags (rye) and sub from a reputable source. The LC could be culprit. A failure on the part of the source could have contributed. Obviously I could have contributed.
Looks like I'm going to start tightly controlling everything...Agar to fruit

The smells were right. Temps right. Sub not too wet.

No problem at all. Starting agar is a very good idea.
