Fruiting stage polyfill need to be adjusted?
    #23851942 - 11/20/16 04:06 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

I have two Monotubs that are in fruiting stage for the past two, almost 3 days. I do remember that some people said that the bottom holes need to be dry around them with the polyfill stuffed in very tight. They also said condensation needs to be on the walls, which is correct as well. But I do have dry areas around the top holes where the polyfill is stuffed very loosely. Is that a issue or do I need to make them more loose? I do have the fan in my room on low facing away from the mono tubs

Bottoms look good, top could be a little looser

The dry rings around the bottom holes should be a 1/2" to 1" thick. The top holes dry rings need to be at least twice that or more. I agree with ppp, yours are not bad but the tops could be looser.

I took the poly out of the tops to see what it does overnight.

Well I don't think that helped. I looked this morning and most of the condensation from the walls was gone. So I our back in polyfill, but loosened it up a lot more than prior. I also put the fan back where I had it prior as well. Cause I had moved it also. Should I mist anything?  Or do y'all want more pics again?

More pics ALWAYS helps

But very light polyfill for fruiting when you feel the day or two your about to harvest is when I pull all my poly out of the top holes but yes mist if there arent beads of moisture across your substrate anymore

I just misted the walls and the substrate a little.  One of my substrate is yellow in some spots. Why would that be? This is starting to get frustrating and confusing to get right

I think I really messed up when I took the polyfill out of the top holes completely. I had it pretty much dialed-in from what it look like other than a tiny bit lack of fae.  I took them out and then looked at it the next morning, which was this morning, and a lot of my walls were dried up. Then I put it back in some polyfill and the top holes and it look like it never recovered and was still getting less condensation on the wall still. I just misted the walls a little bit right before I took the pictures and the substrate a little bit also.

Yeah I put it back in first thing this morning.  Does the substrate look good as in not too dry or wet?  Maybe I am worrying too much, just don't wanna mess up. I have 6 more tubs almost ready for fruiting and wanna make sure I am doing this correctly.

Humidity outside the tub is 30%. Haven't measured inside the tub yet.

As long as you have beads of moisture on the surface you'll be fine. I'm running around 45% in my room now but that will drop to around 30 mid winter.

Okay, so I tested out the humidity and temperature inside of my tub last night over night and checked it this morning. The humidity inside of my tub was 88%. The temperature inside my tub was 73 degrees. The outside temperature of my monotub inside of the room is 73 degrees as well. The same exact temperature inside of the mono tub.  Any suggestions on what should I do

You're doing fine. Try to keep things dialed in as prescribed in this thread, and mist as needed to help out when it's not dialed in perfectly. Your tub looks pretty good so don't sweat it too much. It's easy to over-think and dote on your tubs while you're waiting for something to happen, and there's nothing really wrong with that, but your tub actually looks decent IMO and should flush nicely. It takes experience to develop the instinct where you can look at your tub and automatically know how to make whatever minor adjustments are necessary, and you're on the path to having that instinct. Just keep at it.

Thanks for the confidence.  It's my first time I want it to go right and learn better ways.  I'll post more when I have some pins.

okay, I put two more tubs into fruiting this morning. My other tubs have been going for 6 days. Still no pins. Not worried yet, because it hasn't been a week or more yet. I'm just trying to show you my setup with the lighting and everything, as well as the placement of my fan. I took two different pictures of different placements of the fan because I don't know which one would be best. I would rather have the one in the corner obviously because it is winter time and I don't want the fan blowing on a lot of stuff in the room. But if it needs to be in the middle of the room better like it is and the other picture, I am fine with that. I know the wind of the fan does Bounce Off the Wall a little bit but I don't know if that's a big deal. Let me know any advice or which way would be best. It would be greatly appreciated
