A useful thread for a change: Here's what your body will tell you a month before a heart attack 2

I figured, why not help a little. So here we go. There is this popular belief that heart attacks happens immediately after you feel pain in your left arm. That is not the case. Heart attack don't just happen out of nowhere. It's a progressive disease that build up over time until the body finally has too much and breaks. So here are some symptoms you can (and probably will) experience a month prior to a possible heart attack. They are:
1. About a month before, unusual body weakness is a key symptom resulting from the lack of blood flow and circulation. Due to the narrowing of arteries, weakened muscles are a red flag when it comes to anticipating a heart attack in its premature state
2. When there is a lack of blood flow, dizziness is another symptom that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The lack of proper circulation affects the blood flow to the brain which can result in uncomfortable dizzy spells.
3. Following dizziness, experiencing cold sweats is another signal that your body may be under duress. Without adequate blood flow, your body may feel clammy, cold, and generally unwell.
4. If you are experiencing chest pain, or pain in other areas of your body such as arms, back, and shoulders, you’ll want to seek medical attention as soon as possible. Chest pain and chest tightness are key symptoms to acknowledge in order to prevent a life threatening heart attack.
5. Many heart attacks victims have also experienced cold or flu symptoms a month prior to their illness. This is a good indication of one’s health that shouldn’t be overlooked.
6. Along with overall body weakness, constant fatigue is another strong indicator that your body is undergoing a lack of blood supply. When this is the case, your body experiences the discomfort of overexertion due to the fact that it is working a lot harder to generate sufficient blood flow.
7. Shortness of breath is another key symptom to note when predicting a possible heart attack. With every muscle that requires oxygen and adequate blood flow, your lungs are no different. When your heart is distressed, your lungs will naturally be affected and typically show signs through a difficulty in breathing.
8. Other vital signs include nausea, indigestion, heartburn or abdominal pain.
Stay healthy folks. Listen to your body, it's constantly talking to you, all you have to do is acknowledge the message and you'll save yourself from a world of pain and maybe even premature death.

Yeah, well pretty much all of those things can be triggered by stress alone.
You're just spreading fear.

I'm so frightened now I wish I hadn't read this.
I had all these symptoms and then got diagnosed with a chest infection...
So could also be lung related.

Well, you got to the hospital/doctor and that's what counts.

I don't find this very useful. I'm 25 and 150 on a 5'10 frame. Pretty active. Heart attacks haven't affected anyone in my bloodline to date. Hell my father's damn near 60. His drug use throughout the years combined with his alcoholism and smoking you'd assume be running on fumes. Looks as if that isn't the case though healthy as a horse.
I'm to young to care. Cancer doesn't even run in our blood lines we have not one cancer death. Which is surprising as I come from a long line of Alcoholics and smokers.

My dad had a heart attack and didn't even realize it. I hear this happens more then one would think. He would sometimes have bad chest pains but they would usually pass quickly. He had one pretty bad one that's lasted quite a bit longer then usual but the pain succeeded. Then a few years ago he had tests done for work or for something or other and the doctor saw the results and asked him when he had his heart attack. My dad didn't know what he was talking about, but the dog said the results where pretty conclusive of him having a past heart attack.
The men on my family have a history of dieing of heart complications when their around 50 years old. I'm 30 and I am worried about my heart health. I have had chest pains and symptoms of heart problems but nothing serious. So far I haven't really changed my diet or anything else to take preventative measures. But I do get a lot of exercise through my work so I think that helps. Hopefully it turns out ok.

Lucky you.
Fortunately for me, my great grand parent all died of old age. My grandpas died or lung cancer due to extreme chain smoking. Most other grandpa died of colorectal cancer due to extreme drinking. Both my grandmothers are alive and well. My dad drinks, smoke and is overweight and is in perfect health. My mother is also in perfect health. I've had a hiccup in my 20s but I am also perfectly healthy.

Beat me to it.

Post after mine feel ya dude. I was concerned and asked around. It doesn't run on either side of my family. Or cancer. So don't worry about it much.
I just got a 1000$ worth of blood work done not to long ago. Puked up blood. Was puking with anything I put down. Gastritis. Something like that. I was concerned for years that I might have hep C and poor decisions I made during my junkie years. Turns out I'm pretty much as healthy as one can get but had to stop drinking for a while as I'd been doing far too much of it. Spent a month sober and drink like a responsible adult. Well more or less. It was scary though I thought something was seriously failing.
I know my body well but that was my alright I'm not old but I definitely don't bounce back like I used to kick in the ass.

Yes it is! So do you think the symptoms you listed my be a bit too varied to attribute to heart health alone?

My ma's mom died at 46. Still unknown the doctors wouldn't run tests as she had no insurance or something. I know my Ma was super worried about it thinking she was going to die young. Well she's actually 46 now.
She'll cry from time to time about it. I never got to meet her. Well I was under 2 when I did. Pretty sad.
