The New York Times confirms the Power of Meme Magic 1

Quote:
On the morning of Nov. 9, a moderator who goes by the handle OhSnapYouGotServed posted on a Reddit topic page called The_Donald: “How does it feel, centipedes? The God Emperor said that we would get tired of winning. Are you tired of winning yet? Feel vindicated, centipedes. It’s over and there is nothing they can do about it. We are the future.”
Quote:
The community is home to copious Islamophobia, trolling of liberals and near constant bashing of Hillary Clinton. It has evolved a dialect decipherable only to insiders, which includes acronyms like “MAGA” (Make America Great Again); epithets like “God Emperor” (for Mr. Trump); insults like “cuck” (short for cuckold and often deployed against feminists); memes featuring a cartoon frog associated with racism; and nicknames like ’Pedes. (Centipedes, a term for Trump supporters adopted from a YouTube mash-up of the song “Centipede” by the band Knife Party and clips of Mr. Trump’s speeches. It might also be a penis joke. Seriously.)
Quote:
Still, by early 2016, its content so regularly took over Reddit’s most popular lists that the company decided to change its algorithm to make it harder for posts from groups like The_Donald to reach prominence, according to employees. When he announced the change, Mr. Huffman said it had been in the works for a while, but also that Reddit was being undermined by The_Donald’s attempts “to dominate the conversation.” The community’s power soon reached beyond Reddit. Mr. Trump tweeted out memes and videos that originated on The_Donald and in July he participated in a popular Reddit “Ask Me Anything” discussion, after his team communicated with the moderators. This would make little sense if The_Donald were all memes and derision. But according to Reddit, The_Donald’s moderators — nearly 50 far-flung volunteers — deftly managed to channel action out of the chaos. They hosted an extensive and at times informative Wiki about Mr. Trump’s policy proposals and instructed supporters how to help with the campaign. Members often suggested strategies for arguing persuasively against opponents.
Perhaps most important, members organized an effort to comb through the Democratic National Committee emails released by WikiLeaks over the summer. In order to interpret and disseminate these documents, The_Donald relied on a network of subscribers it (adoringly?) named “weaponized autists.” Of particular fixation were emails from the Clinton campaign chairman, John Podesta. In a debate in October, Mr. Trump said to Mrs. Clinton, “John Podesta said some horrible things about you.” There is no way to know how much all this online activism made a difference on Election Day. But there were many discussions of how The_Donald’s hundreds of thousands of members could persuade their friends on Facebook and elsewhere to get out to vote. And, after all, they spent months discussing Nov. 8 on Reddit; it’s hard to imagine they didn’t spend a few minutes in a voting booth.
The mainstream media really just does not fucking get it. For a while I thought they were acting retarded just to push a narrative to their retarded readers, but this confirms that they are truly, genuinely, retarded. Life has just gotten so good recently

Hillary Clinton is going to go down as the worst presidential candidate ever. She was fucking retarded, and thought you could delete emails with a cloth. By the end she was pummeled so hard by our magical memes that she was reduced to manically yelling about Russia or some other made up shit, like the popular vote. Meme magic confirmed.

I think the new York times is retarded but I think this post, the alt-right, and Donald Trump are fucking retarded.
Everyone I've encountered irl who enjoys these memes are the same people who read manga in their 20's and "date" a girl for years they met on world of warcraft but still haven't touched their butt.

I don't know about that, man. I'm not sure why this post would be retarded. I'm merely pointing out why the NYT is retarded. The alt-right basically isn't even real. And even if there are people who fall into that category, it's an extremely small amount of people, and they aren't the ones who got DJT elected. And whatever bro, you can think DJT is retarded all you want but confirmed genius Kanye East even admitted that donald trump is a genius.
I think you're getting that last part confused. Trump guys get laid. Hillary supporters are the ones who are unable to crush butt.

I remember when I was a minor on the Shroomery. I was immature and annoying at times, but typically respectful because I knew I was young and probably a bit immature in comparison to other members.
"and they aren't the ones who got DJT elected. " Going out on a limb here but id say most of the people who got djt elected were white (generally poor, not college-educated) conservatives in rural areas. There's a Trump sign below a Confederate and American flag right across my street. I wake up every morning, look out my bedroom window for a few moments before I bow my Caucasian head and thank God for my white, southern heritage.

Nice story, you racist. And yes, calling a post "retarded" and proceeding to say that a certain group of people you don't like, "are the type who met a girl on WoW and haven't touched her butt yet" is very mature indeed. Quite respectful as well

"Nice story, you racist" A joke. There is a Trump sign below a Confederate and American flag right outside my bedroom window though.

It was a retarded post. I think of those memes like they're Dilbert comic strips. I see them and I know they're supposed to be funny or something but they do nothing for me and mean little to nothing.
And I know two people who are down with the alt-right. One did meet a girl on some online video game thing and that he's kind of been dating for a few years but nothing has happened (I wish I didn't know this)
And another is neckbeardy and nerdy and before this election, was beginning to develop legitimate fascist views. So yeah, based on my limited, real-world encounters with alt-right people, they've been socially awkward weird people.

Webster, you are so fucking stupid. Even the trump supporters on here know so. You're an 18 year old loser who puts drugs in girl's drinks. You have a one track mind. I would love to punch you in your ugly fat face. I would have to aim low though, as not only are you a stupid ugly loser, you're short too. Enjoy your steroids. They won't make you more of a man though.

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/donald-trump-pepe-the-frog-and-white-supremacists-an-explainer/
Quote:
This raised some important questions.
Why is there a frog standing directly behind Trump?
That’s Pepe. He’s a symbol associated with white supremacy.
Wait. Really? White supremacy?
That’s right.
Please explain.
Here’s the short version: Pepe is a cartoon frog who began his internet life as an innocent meme enjoyed by teenagers and pop stars alike.
But in recent months, Pepe’s been almost entirely co-opted by the white supremacists who call themselves the “alt-right.” They’ve decided to take back Pepe by adding swastikas and other symbols of anti-semitism and white supremacy.
“We basically mixed Pepe in with Nazi propaganda, etc. We built that association,” one prominent white supremacist told the Daily Beast.
Trump has retweeted his white supremacist supporters with regularity, but the connection between the alt-right and his campaign continues to strengthen. Trump has been slow to disavow support from Ku Klux Klansmen and white supremacy groups, and he recently hired Breitbart.com’s Steve Bannon as his campaign CEO (and Bannon isn’t shy about the fact that his “news” organization is the “platform for the alt-right”).
Now white supremacists have given Pepe the cartoon frog some Trump hair—and the candidate’s own son says he is “honored to be grouped with” him.
Let me get this straight: Trump’s presidential campaign is posting memes associated with white supremacy online?
Yes.

Do you know why democrats have to lie about republicans?
Because democrats can't get elected by telling the truth about their policies and ideas
