We know what the AG he nominated thinks about legalization, and what he did when he was a prosecutor. He's the one that will make the decision regarding what to do about the legal states.

we need to keep an eye on this sessions guy and exert constantly pressure to make sure there is no backtrack on legalization but Hillary is an Open , sworn enemy of weed, Trump so far we simply don't know yet.
I certainly am not, personally I don't think either candidate would have made any difference. They are both puppets probably serving the same masters.
No one but puppets makes it that far in politics and has any chance of being elected president it seems. The election is just a giant show to divide the general public.
If people stopped bitching about the politicians they don't support while blindly following the ones they do and actually tried to make a difference we could have long ago moved past 2 party politics as it is clear this system doesn't work and is way too easy to corrupt/ buy out. Instead every 4 years they get everyone all riled up and divided until most people have settled back down into complacency.

I didn't system Trump will be pro weed. I'm just reminding everyone that hillary is explicitly anti weed. in a worst case scenario Trump will do exactly the same thing Hillary promised to do - oppose legalization. but with him we don't know for sure yet, with Hillary we do.

phio said: > In Alabama, Jeff Sessions Desegregated Schools and Got the Death Penalty for KKK Murderer
(CNN)As the US attorney in Mobile, Alabama, Jeff Sessions was talking over a case one day in the 1980s with two fellow prosecutors.
It had to do with a young black man who had been kidnapped and brutally murdered by two members of the Ku Klux Klan.
The Klansmen, Henry Hayes and Tiger Knowles, slit the victim's throat and hung his body from a tree. They carried out the attack in retribution for a jury acquitting a black man in the slaying of a white police officer.
As Sessions learned that some members of the Klan had smoked marijuana on the evening of the slaying, he said aloud that he thought the KKK was: "OK until I found out they smoked pot." Sessions insists he was joking. But the damage was done. .... Thomas Figures, an assistant US Attorney who worked under Sessions in Mobile, testified that he was present when Sessions made the remark and said he did not regard it as a joke.
Figures, who was African-American and passed away last year, also told committee members that Sessions had called him "boy" on several occasions and once cautioned him to "be careful what you say to white folks" after Figures had spoken harshly to a secretary who was white.
Another federal prosecutor, J. Gerald Hebert, testified that Sessions had called the ACLU and NAACP "un-American" and "communist-inspired." According to Hebert, Sessions said the two groups "forced civil rights down the throats of people." .... Hebert, the Justice Department prosecutor who testified about Sessions alleged comments about the NAACP and ACLU, said he has had no contact with his former colleague since the hearing three decades ago. But has followed his career through his public comments and votes in the Senate. He said he noticed "a pattern" of behavior that has concerned him, including voting against the nomination of several high profile appointees who were non-white.
All things considered, Hebert, said, he found it a frightening prospect that Sessions would be appointed attorney general. "It's a collection of things from over the years. I think it's frightening for people who believe in fairness and equality for him to be running the Justice Department."

Sessions is obviously very against Marijuana.
What he will do if and when he gets in remains to be seen.
During his campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly vowed to leave the question of marijuana prohibition “to the states.” And any federal crackdown would likely inspire heavy backlash, both from “green state” voters and from the burgeoning legal mairjuana industry. ... During Senate confirmation hearings for current attorney general Loretta Lynch, Sessions suggested that he viewed opposition to state-level legalization as a core responsibility of America’s top prosecutor.
“I hope that you will cease to be silent, because if the law-enforcement officers don’t do this, I don’t know who will,” Sessions said. “And in the past, attorneys general and other government officials have spoken out and I think kept bad decisions from being made.”
In a Senate hearing on the federal response to state-level cannabis laws, Sessions called on the government to foster the “knowledge that this drug is dangerous, you cannot play with it, it is not funny, it’s not something to laugh about … good people don’t smoke marijuana.” .... Sessions has further suggested that Barack Obama’s confession of past marijuana use contributed to the increase in rates of drug overdose in the United States, and pined for the days when “[t]he federal government led the way with tough sentencing, eliminating parole, targeting dangerous drugs in effective ways, and states and local governments followed.”
The likely next attorney general’s passion for federal leadership on marijuana prohibition stands in marked contrast to his belief that the Voting Rights Act intrudes on states’ rights.
But perhaps Sessions simply believes that some policies are so central to who we are as a country, they supersede state sovereignty — and that jailing people for smoking weed is one of those policies, while guaranteeing African-Americans access to the ballot is not.
