Yeah, surprisingly. The sun is up early in the morning. I'm usually trying to get in the shower and get to work in those precious first moments of the day. Then, by the time I'd get out of work, it's already night time.

For some reason the fact that the days are shorter down south as well evaded me.
I could handle not seeing so much as a glimpse of sunlight in a day as long as the nights were warm and everything was stil ALIVE.
Most of what bothers me is the cold death that is a midwest winter. Ice cold, easy to become ill, bleak, no plant life, no sounds of animals/insects. Id say thats 80% of it right there and the lack of sun is the other 20%.
I remember my first winter time mush trip. At first it was pretty cool. It was snowing, everything was covered in a few inches of snow. I was enjoying looking at my frozen pool and the uniform rows of snow covered fence. The glistening of the snow and all.
After a while things got to me and the trip turned..it was so incredibly dead silent out, extremely eerie feeling. It bothered me very very deeply. It made me feel just as empty and baron inside

Snow removal is the way to go! I find especially people who have verandas, after a storm hits they pay big bucks to get that shovelled off haha

Mush 4 Brains said: Last winter was hard for me. October rolls in and it starts getting colder and darker, to me it feels like the beginning of the end.
Til today its been mild and unusually warm and sunny. But today it was cold, the streets empty, quiet outside, all the trees barren, cold and wet. This is how its going to be for the next 4 months mostly.
I cant stand that it'll soon look the same at 6am as it does 4:30pm. Last winter i was unemployed, and it was especially hard. I felt trapped indoors. Hours and days began to blend together. Just constant hopelessness and dread.
Anyone have any tips to fight seasonal depression? Ive made up my mind that im going to really fight it which ime is the most important part of dealing with depression.
Im thinking I'll try to incorporate a gym routine into my schedule and maybe maximize my time out in sunlight.
Ive actually considered buying lamps to chill under to simulate sunlight.
I think I do but, I have never been diagnosed. More importantly, I am not a pussy. My advice would be to read Reality Transurfing or listen to the audio book on youtube.
One thing you can do for anxiety, panic attacks or depression is exercise. Change your physiology through activity. Even taking a walk will change your state of being. Try meditation and yoga. Its great for the mind, body, and soul connection.
Adapt a well healthy balanced diet. You are what you eat. In North America, most people are eating donuts, and growing love handles. Be different. Turn down the volume through meditation, quieting your mind, yoga, deep breathing techniques, try a body scan or get an app like calm.
Reconnect with nature. Call family and friends. One way to get out of the solipsism is reconnecting with people, service to others, and escaping self. Too much internal intention can affect external intention. Don't take your thoughts too seriously.

Depression sucks. Whether is seasonal or whatever one bad day can be the worst or a a catalyst of something bad. Ive struggled with depression for the most of my adult life, if you ever need to talk we're here, am i am here specifically, its always worse than we are willing to admit.

Aaand everything has frozen over. The ground is crunchy. The trees are hibernating. Even the river is starting to freeze.
