Myc from stems?
    #23849698 - 11/19/16 07:32 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I set these psilocybe cyanescens stems aside, expecting them to dry, but these are thicker than previous batches that I've passively dried and after 2 days they're still not dry but rather - it looks like - producing mycelium. I just want to check that this is actually mycelium rather than mould?

Try transplanting some to agar.  If it produces random splotchy daughter growth patterns everywhere then you have mould.  If it grows like your original strain then it is just that.

What are you not supposed to dehydrate ps cyans? And its mycelium but they are probably starting to rot i gave some fresh ones to a buddy who threw them in a mason jar even after telling him he has a few days tops they turned yellow green black all kinds of nasty mush

You are indeed, but mushrooms from this patch have previously been like shrivelled up old men, well past their prime; I didn't even need to turn up the heat - they just laid down and dried. Recent flushes however have had a pert, moist youthfulness and vigor which has taken me by surprise.
