I have just fish my first monotub and decided to try a G2g transfer. I have a master jar that is about complete and was wondering how many jars it could do and how much is really need 4 a good transfer?

Its all a matter of preference to me... if I want them to colonize quicker I add more spawn or if I only pc'd 6 jars that cycle then 6 jars for 1 master as long as I make more than 2 healthy jars of mycelium from g2g i consider it a success

could you possible give more details. like how big are the jars?? if its a quart jar of grain i like to get 8-10 quart jars from a master. i usually do not fill the master jar as much either during prep. little more than half way. easier to shake up IMO
you could almost use any amount but obviously the more colonized grain you use the faster the receiving jar will colonize.
above all else... MAKE SURE THE MASTER IS CLEAN!!

I normally do 1:5 or 1:10. It's really up to preference, how much you want to wait, how much total spawn you want, etc. You could do a G2G with a single grain, so 1:10,000 or something. It's also down to how clean it is, we assume it's sterile, but in practice that's not always the case. Doing 1:10,000 with even the slightest bit of contamination will just result in 10,000 jars to clean up.

Do about 10 same-sized jars (or fewer) from your master jar.
Pretty much any multispore grow is going to include some amount of bacteria from even a clean spore syringe, and this bacteria will multiply and grow more the more you grow out the culture. So keep in mind that for multispore, one generation of G2G is fine if you have good sterile technique, but you often start to push the limits of bacterial contamination if you try to G2G another generation past that. If you do want to G2G another generation, inspect your second-gen jars closely and only use ones that look absolutely clean as third-gen G2G masters. Even then you're risking reduced fruiting performance due to bacteria. If you have one MS syringe and plan well, though, you can get up to 100 relatively clean jars from one clean syringe (10 masters inoculated with spores, each G2G'd into 10 more second-gen jars.)
