Could somebody please tell me what's going on?
    #23847865 - 11/19/16 09:26 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I grew oysters this year, back in May. Great turn out. I used the laundry basket method...However, I don't remember my pins looking anything like this. Is this some sort of contaminated growth? They're spuradic and just masses of pins. Took more pics but shroomery says I'm out of room. I checked the liquid around the pins and it appears to just be water, but the pins do look like little tiny oysters up close.

Also, they may be a slight possibility that a jar of B+ cubes were spawned with this in accident, but I don't think so.

Any thoughts? Contam?, Bacteria? Normal (hopefully)?

Thats Grey oyster. Looks like bio-waste, could be from a light bacteria infection.

The pinning is normal? I wonder if the weather has had an effect on it. It didn't pin like that in the beginning of the summer. I'm in the south so I figured it would be ideal conditions right now (low of 40's, highs of 65-70). When I fruited in the summer it did very poorly and dried out way to fast. Hopefully this is different.

Those pins look great!  Like ferather said, probably a bit of bac but not terrible. Those should be ready in about 3-4 days.  They might end up on the small side due to the number of fruit.

On second look, some of the wispy mycelium around around the pins looks a bit suspect but I'm not sure as I don't remove the plastic from the sub.  What's the fruiting strategy here?

I don't remove the plastic. It's just a laundry basket. I think that the wispy myc. may be cubensis myc. This could be the reason why. There are 2 variety/species of mushrooms competing.
