Storing Pan Cyan Myc Jars

Not realising that pans can take up to two weeks to pin, I have a backlog of colonised jars that I would not want to go off. Is pan mycelium similar to cube mycelium with respect that I can keep it colonised for a good month or so at room temperature without worrying about it going bunk? Will it do okay in the fridge at 5C if need be?
Cheers guys

it's not good for pan or cube grainspawn to consolidate. consolidation is good for substrates but not spawn. the longer the mycelium sits during that stage it will start to lose it's ability to propagate on to new material. if you really must postpone the process i guess it would depend on how long you must postpone it for. if it's just a week i would think it would be better to leave them out but if it's going to be a couple weeks or more it may be better to put them in a refrigerator. but in my experience cold temperatures can shock panaeolus mycelium so i can't say what your best option is there.

Thanks for the tip there Panarchist,
Have you ever tried a bulk grow of pans in a monotub using the hpoo substrate? I guess if you leave the lid off and mist regularly they will get more FAI Cronicr looks like he does a lot of open grows too.

i like the trays in an martha-style green house method. most, but not all, of the monotub pan grows i've seen don't have as nice fruits as those in a martha or even an SGFC. but it all comes down to what works best for you. and it seems like open air fruiting can be a viable option though i think you need a decent level of ambient humidity for it to work best. i'm still learning to master this process as well so i'm trying to remain open to exploring all the options that are available.

i was thinking about this some more and it occurred to me that there might be another option in this situation. since it's not good to consolidate your spawn but it is good to consolidate your substrate maybe you should just mix your spawn with your substrate and let it do it's thing in that mode until you get back to it. while a 3-5 day consolidation period is the recommended amount of time for panaeolus substrates some growers have found that an even longer consolidation period can actually have benefits. here's a thread from a few years ago that discusses this, most commenters seem to be cubensis growers but i think the same dynamic should apply to panaeolus substrates though you probably won't see the same dramatic rise in potency that the cubensis growers are noting:
