Im not sure why theyre so short? i thought a 3 inch substrate depth would grow larger fruits. These are the same size as my brf cakes i did way back

I guess there so small because theres so many of them? I figured a 3 inch substrate would atleast give you 4 or 5 inch fruits...

I used 5 quarts of water to 1 brick of coir and 2 quarts of verm. It was definetly at field capacity. Do you think a thin casing layer caused this?

Nevermind, i was reading the vendors description and pictures. Its just genetics, theres doesent look much bigger or taller than mine. Oh well, slighly dissapointing but atleast ill have a harvest. I dont think its overwateted because shrooms that get too much moisture have soggy wet caps. Ive had it happen before but thanks for the help cron. Will update later

Ive been reading how to do the squeeze test, field capacity, and different TCs opinions. I think the ol 1 brick coir, 2 quarts, 5 quarts water needs to have less water. I originally thought field capacity is when you squeeze, a bunch of drops come out and if harder a stream. Now it seems like thats too wet. You only want a few drops to come out as said by RR. Ill have totest this out on my next tubs. That would explain why my Albino tub stalled. Probaly too wet of substrate/casing.

I decided to try something with the Albino tub. Its been over 2 weeks and isnt colonizing the casing. I opened it up and it just smells like mushrooms. No sweet or sour smells. I scraped off the casing and broke up the 3 inch substrate so it has to recolonize itself and i misted the walls and surface to help it out. I put it back into colonization mode. Not sure if itll work but it doesent hurt to find out. Hopefully itll come back but well see.

Heres some more Brazil....

Very surprised at the small fruits.

I've gotten fruits that small before, but the sub depth was 2 inches max. Hm. I Want to think hidden bacteria is stunting growth, but I just can't say for sure. Certainly odd looking.

Yeah me too but theres no odd smell or coloring. Everything looks normal besides the size. Im starting to think the sub was over saturated. Plus the genetics of this species doesent grow very large.

I think the substrate was too moist.
I use 4.5 quarts of water for mine but the reccomended is 4. You did also mention that the casing may have been on the wetter side.
Also that was a fucking nice pinset man! Congrats
