Nevermind i figured it out. Ill be fruiting my Brazil tub in the next few days depending on how fast it pokes through the casing. Stay tuned....

The Albino just finished colonizing and i applied the casing layer. Heres before

And heres the casing

When the tub reaches 100% colonization. Does it always start rhizomorphic growth to find more food? Or does some mycelium do it and not others?

I didnt use layers, i evenly mixed the spawn and substrate. I just noticed the Brazil had rhizomorphic growth at 100% colonization and didnt know if it always does this. But thanks for all the help cron

When you make your casing layer, should it be brought to field capacity or slighly less than it? I know a too wet or too dry casing isnt good for the mycelium.

I think field capacity is generally a pretty safe bet

This is the part that feels the longest, waiting for the fruits of your labor. Cant wait to see the 1st flush come in and how much better results i get using a casing layer. Crossing my fingers for a sweet canopy.

No i dont, i usually dont case my tubs but i hear it gets you a more even pinset and better 1st flush. Might as well try and see. If i was to do that i would have to use the exact same isolated mushroom so there would be no difference besides the casing. But i dont have the time or space for agar work right now.

I just put a 1/2 inch layer over it and once 20% pops through i patch the sides because mushrooms always come through the sides 1st. If its prepared right its not gonna contam. Im using information off of Franks how to get shit done list for my casing.
