Googled it -milk sickness from white snakeroot plant in the 1800s dairy or meat products from infected animals. I think that's a little far back in history to be of relevance to this topic. You can feed a yew ( taxus ) and kill a cow , what's the point. Is it really worth finding out that a mushroom does not break down ergot?

TomGreen said: I got my grain from a farmer I found on Kijiji. Nobody seemed to be selling grain on kijiji, probably something to do with grain board regulations, but there was an ad for the hay of rye and some other grains so I hit him up. I did know when I was buying it that it wasn't clean grain. He described it as having "dockage" in our email exchange. I'm pretty sure he just sells it to a distributor who cleans with fancy equipment then sells it. As far as the price, a lot of you guys are going to think I'm lying . 5 Canadian pesos/bushel is what he wanted to charge me. I ended up giving him a 50% tip though. Still, filling half of a long box pickup truck with grain for 120$ isn't so bad lol even if it's a little ergoty
Jesus fucking fuck me in the ass man. I'm sitting here in a large city in California so I can't really find any farmers around me lmao

St Louis Milo (56#) $3.10 wheat (60#) $4.13 per bushel Of course those are cash price farmer is getting at elevator. You would have to pay 50 cents to a dollar more.

No for buck or so more a feed mill will bag out whatever you want. I made many 50-75# batches of feed years ago. Might charge a fee to run through the mixer and charge for bags if you don't have your own.
Last month I bought soy hulls bagged and sewn for $3.80 / 50#.

Yes my co op has been jacking up the price, I now pay $5 a bag by the ton. Maybe the bad harvest this year drove prices up?

I'm in soybean country , haven't really heard numbers around here. I would say average year here. Price has an effect , demand for 48% bean meal has a large effect because then you have hulls left . If there is more demand for 44% bean meal then hulls are gone.
