Pan. Cyan. needs manure in Agar?

I was watching the David Barlow video on cultivating Pan. Cyan. He said that they do not grow well on normal agar preps and made a recipe for Malt Dung Agar (MDA). His MDA recipe was as follows:
25 ml water .5g agar agar .5g malt extract .25g horse manure or poultry manure
Has anyone else heard or know from experience if Pan Cyan doesn't like to grow on plain ol' MEA? Is it just better to add manure every time, even for cubes? Would there be any conflict using this instead of 50/50 malt extract and agar agar? It contains, in addition to malt extract and agar, dextrose and peptone g.

You dont NEED to but you can train your mycelium to eat wierd things this way.
But no it should eat up that MEA
I'd do your recipe the plate away from transfers to masters

I think I'll try both ways just to see for myself. If there is no noticeable difference I'd prefer to handle the manure only when I need substrate. What did you mean by "I'd do your recipe the plate away from transfers to masters?"

then stop watching his videos. there's a ton of bad info out there, once you see something as wrong as this just stop viewing.

I needed to confirm whether or not his claim was true. So you're saying I shouldn't even bother trying out the manure and go straight for the MEA with Pan Cyan as if it were a cube?

as wrong as this? Whats so wrong with adding more diverse nutes to agar? Per example, RR adds coffee to agar for sclerotia producers.
At least I thought it sounded like a good idea at first glance. I never did well with pans on agar, though that was likely for other reasons.

I searched that dudes name and all I could find was his own youtube videos and a 40page leaflet he tries to sell for $20. sounds like a complete ass just looking to make money with no consideration to the bad advice he's spreading.

Pan. cyan. pinning on MEA:

P.S. in a binomial name, species name is always lowercase & genus is always uppercase.

What you refer to as the species name is actually the specific epithet. The species name includes the genus and specific epithet, in that order.

i finally got some MEA recently. the growth on it seems to be better than any of the diy agar recipes i tried. 11 days ago i inoculated some pastyplates with some pan cyan spores and it's already got some mycelial growth that's about the size of a penny on two plates. i think they will be ready for taking some transfers this weekend.
and what is up with that Barlow dude? his teks suck and he doesn't look like he's ever even eaten a single magic mushroom in his entire life.

I think his rather thorough. He shared the information freely.
How exactly does someone look that's eaten one psilocybin containing mushroom in his life? This some kind of trendy status thing that makes one cool?
