Wait u taking a 2 year break?
I believe slants are your best bet. Or fruit and spore print. Spore prints last about 2 to 5 years.

Syringes stored for at least two years in the refrigerator
"Roger Rabbit said, from thread Ghetto liquid culture methods:
It doesn't get easier than my favorite method.
Colonize a quart jar of rye berries with your species of choice. Shake well to break up the individual kernels of grain. Allow to recover for a day or two just until the kernels begin to turn white again, and then add a pint of sterilized water to the jar and shake well. Pour this water into your flask and add up to three times the volume of sterilized water and allow to stir for a few days. Fill your syringes and use. You can store this water, even in the syringes for at least two years in the refrigerator and use whenever needed.
I'm still using a batch of syringes I made in May 2007, and once injected into grains or brf cakes, they take right off. RR"

Pour a sleeve of plates, and some slants. Slant your myc, label it, let it grow out, refrigerate it for six months, take it out of the refrigerator a couple days, take a couple of your plates and make transfers from slant, let the plates grow out and make a transfer to a blank plate, once that plate has grown cleanly transfer a wedge to a fresh slant, label and date it, let it grow out and refrigerate, wait another six months. Ect.
Requires about 7 day span of slight effort every 6 months (or however long a time you choose to)
I would save prints over saving cultures unless it's a monster producer.
