Had some trouble with a few even more promising spots but managed to be pretty successful spots.
Very happy with what I found and gained some more useful knowledge for next year. The libs have started to dwindle off around here, the current outlook is not too bad but I can't see more Than 3 weeks at best for the season, and no numbers like that have been found. All in all pretty happy with the year so far and have found some of the most beautiful liberties I have every seen.
* Habitat Grassy campground, pine trees were the only trees around/ not very many of them *Location Atlantic Canada * Gills Immature light brown/beige mature black/dark purpilish brown * Stem white/beige bruising brown and blue at base * Spore print dark pupleish/grey/black * Scent * Color of bruise reddish brown - dark brown

Jeez that's a lot! Good job. I really dig the one with the opened flat cap. Make sure they get dried out all the way before storing them or all your troubles will be for nothing.

Thanks a lot! I have some more pictures of the mushrooms drying on screens, I really regret not taking more pictures of the mushrooms where I found them and while they were fresh.
The fanned out one is my favorite by far, the patch it was growing in had the perfect conditions, the majority were found in short grass that was wicking water from a swamp, and the beauties were found in the long grass at the edge of the swamp and are perfect examples of a healthy mature liberty cap. I was super excited when I found them and did my best to protect it, I don't feel too bad about picking them because they probably wouldn't have made it through the frost that night
How would you describe the smell of psilocybes?

It's pretty rare to see them like that, the open ones were growing in long dense grass completely shaded from the sun. The only reason I found those guys is because there were 100's of normal looking ones growing right beside them in the really short grass.

Yupp I make sure to dry them as fast as possible, luckily I haven't had any major issues and I always go through them again before jarring em.
