I want to know what the average shroomerite thinks is the hands down best species of psilocybin mushrooms. I'm only putting ten in the poll.

They all have their perks. It's like asking which is your favorite strain of ganja. Seems there are too many variables to give a strait answer.

ah well it's about preference then, innit
i'm still curious to know what people like best and why they defend it as the best
personally, my favorites were some cubies my buddy grew, tazzies, only because they were cheap, plentiful, tasty, and fried me pretty hard

I hear really good things about sclerotia and pan cyans, some say cyans are more LSD like.
Have only tried cubes though.

Besides the potency or lack there of which might make you sick from digesting excess mushroom material and woodlovers that paralyze you is there really any difference between the trips? I mean psilocin is psilocin.

there's also baeocystin, and other compounds that get wholly ignored
OP might not want the thread to go on that particular tangent, so I'll leave it at that

actually no, there's a lot of things that contribute to the high shrooms give, psilocybin content, baestocin content, melatonin content, other analoguous tryptamines, lots of stuff that each species does differently.
plus take into account difficulties of growing, (the only reason cubies are better than cyans imo)
theres almost as much room for preference as strains of pot or kratom

Favorite strain growth wise I can see, but since this is in PE I didn't think you were asking about that. Psilocin and psilocybin are near identical. I've also heard a trip report of someone taking beocystine and said it felt just like psilocin. Melatonin does not contribute to a trip or you would be tripping when you took it otc. I've taken >10mg of melatonin, it makes you a bit drowsy, but that's it. There are a slew of other tryptamines amongst the various psilocybes but again most do nothing appreciable and those that do likely have no effect because they're only there in trace amounts.

just like all the different trace alkaloids in bud have no effect
I don't think we have enough info to really have this debate, its all personal experience and heresay.

Not a lot is known about the functioning of the pineal gland. It has no blood brain barrier so we don't really understand the Governing systems of our neurology. How different substances effect the piezoelectric functioning of the gland. How that vibrating or power source effects the rest of the neurology or our environment.

rbalzer, there is certainly a difference, the entourage effect is real among STRAINS of marijuana, and i'm talking about differing SPECIES in terms of mushrooms.
4 aco dmt is a different experience than 4 ho dmt, one functional group changed slightly, and i've done both in pure form, and i've eaten enough different species in similar doses to know that they are certainly not the same, there is a subjective difference in function
for example, after consuming 3.5 dry grams of cyans, my consciousness turned into a smoothie, had a pretty great time seeing the colours of my walls flash so intensely if i had epilepsy i'd be seizing to this very day, when only one week earlier 5 grams of dry burmese cubies had given me a sort of stoned, less visual, but equally intense trip.
potency varies and this is just one account, but I do harbor a hearty belief that different species have different qualatative effect based on the alkaloids they contain

sorry I worded that in a confusing way. Just to clarify, I'm well aware that different strains of bud are different and was being sarcastic

Personally I really don't find any significant difference between cannabis strains as far as the high goes short of low/no cbd = a headier high. All of the other cannabinoids and terpenes? Yeah, they have no effect on the high, I'll say it. I bet apples to apples that the main reason people think different strains are different is because they look, taste, and smell differently, and of course potency is a factor, but there is no difference in the high. People have analyzed the various constituents of various strains and it's true that the terpenes have medical value, the different cannabinoids have mildy different effects etc, but people take this out of context and don't consider that the actual amounts of these within the bud is too low to contribute to anything.

if I mail you some lemon sour diesel and then mail you some blue magoo, both averaging 14-18% thc by volume, you'll definitely understand the vast difference.
have you lived in a legal state? I got my pick of the litter on strains, strains grown under the same conditions even, and the difference is unbelievable

I don't live in a legal state, but I've had plenty of quality strains, I used to grow and order weed online.

Well, they're sort of like Ps cyanescens, only they have more visuals, more surreal landscapes, more trippiness. And they take music to incredible heights. Extremely hyperdimensional.
