Myc mass
    #23842645 - 11/17/16 05:14 PM (7 years, 3 months ago)

I'm doing a stem butt tek. If all goes well I may end up with end up with e.g. 5 jar-sized chunks of mycelium-around-wood-chip. So that would mean that I could plant 5 new outdoor locations. Alternatively I could rip those chunks into e.g. 4 bits each and plant 20 new outdoor locations. Which is the better approach and why?

5 and 5 because it will have more spawn per outside location.

Thanks. And so does that mean that it's more likely to take? Or that it will yield faster? Or both?

Yeah once you get the fire going it is more likely to stay lit.

5 jar sized chunks? Do you mean you have 5 quarts of spawn?

If it were me I'd only plant one patch with that, and choose my location with care. 5 quarts isn't all that much.
