Meaningless continuity based on past meaningless continuity. Thats what bothers me about this.

I live for my son. I live to trip. I live to make my familys life easier.

Pointless primal expression. SirShrooms - Adrenaline eh? Not bad. Similar to those who reach for the bottle/needle though. Just more noble perhaps.

I live because I genuinely see no reason to kill myself. I enjoy life. Life is not a struggle for me. It's comes pretty easily, painlessly and doesn't require much effort. I live, because what would I do otherwise?

Meaningless but sort of a zen to it eh? I suppose that would have been my answer had I not been in this dark slump.

Family and friends. Those come before country,God and my personal aspirations and passions. I love to laugh though and I love to play with words. More superficially though I love traveling foremost, cooking, then video games/t.v.,then movies and then probably books. I have a very specific value for all these things in my life.
There are things I love that are awful and actively try to change. Like being gluttonous, addiction to opiates and benzos, addiction to porn (although that doesn't exactly detract from my life),I love procrastinating and that's pretty much it.
I have devoted my life to my family and barely have had the chance to live as a result. I spend every weekend feeding, arranging medication and washing my dad. He has fiber glass in his lungs and has something called interstitial lung disease and toxic chemical damage. That's nothing though. Until last August I took care of my bed bound grandma through 4 years of dementia and about 3 solid years of Alzihimers. I cared for her about 14 hours a day and my mom cared for her the other 14 hours. My gma would sleep from 5am to 10am or sometimes 11 if we were lucky. This has made the simple things epic in life because I just didn't have the luxury to do them for so long. Sex,music festivals, bars, raves, romantic trips all are so precious to me because I know what not even having a chance to experience them is like .Quote:

There's nothing wrong with having biological children. If you don't think that's right then don't have kids or adopt. Don't chastise others for it though.

Right now I live out of fear of death
Everything living lives to die. Dying is personal and public. Dying can be glorious ecstasy or horribly fearful hell. Life is like purgatory.

Definitely.
Alan Watts on some of these subjects:
Alan Watts: Parents Should Not Live For Their Children
^Bit long, may be the wrong video. But the gist is that we shouldn't instill in our children that we live for them. Because that breeds a sense of false purpose in ourselves, and in them when they become parents as well. We should live because we enjoy living if we can, not because we have the burden of children keeping us around.

You live only to die? Why give it the 60-90 years then?

Objectively, yes, it's meaningless. But subjectively, the opportunity my father has blessed me with is unexpicably fucking awesome. I can do whatever I want with my life if I want to. I can literally be or do anything. That's not meaningless, it's a dream come true.

We'll see. I don't really have to stress myself out about what I will do for a living. Maybe I'll run for president one day

I live because I don't see any point right now of committing suicide.
Really. If I'd like to die, there's nothing that can stop me. And yet, I'm content and not suicidal at all.
About biological children.. More children, more population, more problems. A father speaking.

Evolving a more complex awareness to die into. I don't think a child dies with the same psychology as an adult but not speaking for the 99%.

Nah, raising a child that's not biologically mine seems unfulfilling. I want my child to be my creation. And I want to set it up to live a prosperous life and some day even do what I plan to do for its own children.
