These were found near houston texas, growing in fescue grass. Hopefully i got em, because its been too damn long, and atlanta has been too dry for p. caerulescens this fall

no, but they dropped jet black spores on the dollar weeds that were mixed in with the fescue. It could could turn out to be purple on white paper though. I'll put em on paper asap. Thanks for your feedback!

spore prints are black only problem is that i see no bruising, but from what i've read, the stipes are usually too dark to see the slight bruising.

Care to post pictures of the prints? How long did you leave them printing?
Blue bruising is not necessarily a main feature with this species in any case.

I put em back on, so probably 20 minutes for the first (which i stupidly rushed ,) and then i repositioned them and left for about 40 min. Hopefully these are good enough. Thanks for all the help man

Way too short, you'll need to leave them at least 6-12 hours to do them justice.

I read that foenisecii can be distinguished from cinctulus because they have a "dark walnut brown" spore print, as where cinctulus has a jet black spore print. would a light print be better? because a thick print of dark brown spores may appear as black in contrast to the white paper background. Both the light, and thick prints i posted seem black to me and not dark brown, but im not eating them unless you guys confirm they are cinctulus

Go grab more. Set up prints and put a cup over them. Leave overnight. Re-post new pics.
Hope for this.

sometimes caps wont drop spores cause the cap already did, but the best way is to leave a cap for at least 24 hours under a glass on a table, u should see something.
good luck.

I'm confused. That's not the print, right? Because they look black to me.

No, thats Origyns photo, that is supposed to be an example of an ideal spore print. Not OPs pic.
