The knob is just to lower the pick, same as a pen..
I don't know what u mean by tensioner, but that thing on the pen comes off and u use it to twist the door knob once u loosen it..

ahh I see I thought that was just a pocket clip.
I'm tempted. $25 isn't bad and I could just grind off the markings and throw that in the bottom of my toolbox and it wouldn't be sketchy.

Look on YouTube man, you can learn to pick most any lock with a little practice. It's not as easy as they make it seem though.

Id say learn all the different lock types for starters, each one will require more or less different technique, some being worth the effort and some damn near impossible without a complex tool to hit tumblers.
Ive drilled out alot of safe locks i lost keys to. They were too complex but ive had luck picking lots of gas tank locks, door knobs, cheap lock boxes and other simple things i just use and pair of thin flat piece i machined and a pair of welding rods can easily compres the few spring loaded tumblers and flip the lock.

What did you use to machine them? I can use a milling machine but I was just gonna grind and brush some strips of steel into different style picks. Like triangle shaped tabs as well as thin right angle ones.

Dropbox says its still uploading i'm surprised you got any files yet, still says 43 mins left. I downloaded a shitload of ebooks/videos when I was 17 or 18 and haven't looked at them much since (8 years). I've got file on explosives, drugs, and mostly survival info from when I was hanging out with survivalist type people. I can buy lock picks through my dad if I ever want to take the time to learn, thanks though.

I've never lockpicked doors much. But I'm terrible about leaving my keys in my car. Can break into a car in a matter of moments. I usually kept my equipment in my backpack that's how forgetful I can be.
Leaving my lights on as well. Always made sure to have jumpers in the trunk. Breaking into my own car and getting it jumped was a weekly occurrence.

I'd use these to the pick the locks at schools and such so I could skate at the schools without jumping fences n shit. That was many moons ago tho.
Sometimes on Friday, in high school, I used to put a piece of Bubble Yum in the door jamb hole so the latch could not fully engage, and I could get into school during the weekend.
Although I'm a biologist, I love all things mechanical, and I highly recommend this book, which I own
"Visual Guide to Lock Picking" by Mark McCloud
Available for free here https://www.scribd.com/doc/62762606/Visual-Guide-to-Lock-Picking
And tons of other great stuff on the web
