Not going to do much without agar when it comes to cloning. You can try 9er tek but it's not very noob friendly imo. I would get agar.

Cloning is beyond easy.
Take desired mushroom and put in SAB. Do normal prework sab stuff. Cut open stipe(stem of shroom) I used different tool to scrape/cut out tissue. Drop on petri/plate.
Easy as can be!

Agar is the best way. I have previously cloned shrooms by taking a half-pint jar and filling it with an inch or so of grain, sterilizing and inoculating with mushroom tissue.
The problem I've noticed is that it is slow and the chance of a contam (bacteria usually) colonizing and stalling myc is sometimes relevant. In order to combat slow colonization directly to grain I'd simply use much more mushroom tissue than you would on agar. Also, I always did 5 jars at a time to increase the odds of one colonizing. Then g2g to a master. This does work but the only reason I did it is because I was intimidated by agar (which is nonsense). A lot of people frown upon cloning to grain and I'm not sure why, because it does work, but like I said the grains colonize much slower than they would with an agar plate and it's certainly not as efficient.
On agar I simply scrape a small tissue sample with my scalpel and inoculate, let it grow out, transfer to 5 plates and use those to knock up ten quarts (cause that's what I can fit in my pc), and it's much quicker.
This is my experience. Since I've went through this I'd say you will be much happier with the results agar can give you, and there is no reason for you not to use agar.

Excellent flush! I think you are on your way to success for sure! Btw if you are unsure about agar, shroomery member Pasty has a very successful and easy "no pour" agar tek. I see a ton of new and experienced members using this method and it will surely help you achieve your goals with a minimal amount of easily obtainable materials.
