Here are a few pics... sorry if its hard to see the camera blows at macro shots

Thanks in Adv!

Looks pretty bacterial, but it should push out a few fruits

Yeah.. ugh thats kind of what I thought... they started this morning and they been growing fairly rapidly. Every time I look at it, it seems to be growing more.
How does one prevent something like this in the future?
I have taken them out of the monotubs a few times to look at them... is this maybe the reason... its my first real grow attempt so I have been messing with them a little more then I should prolly.
I was kind of under the impression sense you can spawn in open air and sense it was fully colonized I was safe to open the lids and look at them here and there?

Im going to assume you used coir.
But yea once you go to bulk sterility isn't really a factor. Honestly the answer is always your spawn. The jars you had must have had bacteria in them that you didn't notice (it can be pretty sneaky)
How did you inoculate the jars?

It is a Coir Hpooh Verm mix, and this one came from Cracked Corn using Liquid Culture that was from multispore.
Do you think if I threw a small layer of CVG on top it might help it in any way?
I have sense changed to rye... and CVG only...
Im just glad to know that it wasnt me looking at the progress lol.
Thanks man!!!
I guess only time will tell from here on out... I have some jars that are multispore some that are multispore liquid culture and some that are cloned in liquid culture.. I will just keep an eye on everything and refer back to all my notes and make sure I dont mess up again..

So you injected ms into liquid culture?

yes.. then after a few weeks of that growing I then made some syringes and inoculated the corn

Well that is probably the issue. Spore syringes are dirty and should be cleaned up on agar first. You put a drop on agar, it grows outward, then you cut off a nice piece and use that on another plate. This process can be continued into you get a monoculture or just until you are sure that the mycelium is clean.
Then you use a wedge of clean mycelium to inoculate either your LC or a jar.
The only way bulk can be done right is with agar.

Okay... maybe I am a bit confused here. So I can order say a spore syringe and I can only do that with a PF Style jar... But I cannot take that same spore syringe and make a LC or Use on a grain jar?
So I have to get the spores... grow on agar... cut a good piece off... inoculate LC or Grain to prevent a bacterial infection such as the ones pictured?
Correct me if I am wrong please... and so if this is the case why can a PF Style jar be used on a spore syringe but not a grain jar? or what am I missing here?

You are right. The process of spawning to bulk is more sensitive than pf tek. Pf tek can be a bit bacterial because it isn't broken up and made to colonize bulk. The breaking up hurts the mycelium so when you don't have to do that for pf tek there is more wiggle room.
Clean spawn is necessary for bulk so it is strong enough to colonize the bulk without stalling or contaminating with trich(etc.) before the first flushes.

Also pf tek is much harder for things like bacteria to colonize. Powdered brf is a lot more surface area than the outside of grain hulls. Also when you shake a jar or LC, you're spreading the contamination all over the jar, exponentially expanding it. This is especially prevalent in LC. Grain spawn you can get away with quite a few CFUs. In LC, 1 single CFU will fuck you up.

Man thank you! Gosh this whole thing has been such a learning curve for me... So hopefully everything I have is not effed.. I have spent alot of time and resources doing this little activity.. lol
So get some agar and some petri dishes (i am hoping the plasic disposable ones would be a good for starting with?) and learn a little more there... can I do agar in a Still air box or do I need to do the actual glove box? I know a flow hood is ideal but lets face it... this is just a hobby I cannot throw 5 bills out for a homemade or a few gs for a professional one.
I think I have a few pre made / pre ordered syringes I could use for agar work... unless what I have already done produces a few fruits... that I could sample from...
I really appreciate all the help everyone is providing on here... sometimes I get a little flustered and I never mean to come off as a smart ass...

Still air box is superior to the glove box anyways, and yes only open the petris in there.

Okay just incase someone else see's this... the little white dots I was talking about where not contamination it was pinning... I am just over analyzing and being very careful of each step.
here are the pics over the last 2 days.. unless I am not seeing that this tray is also contaminated? If I am missing it please someone point out where it is so I will know.
Again everyone thanks!
