Are there any toxics that look similar? Caution and all that.

Not if you are cautious and pay good attention to what you're picking. Toxic species likely to grow in the same habitat are Galerina marginata and Leratiomyces ceres.

Thank you. I will review these closely and bookmark for reference. Do either of the two referenced toxics present blueish bruising?

Nearly all toxic species do NOT bruise blue. Some bruise blackish thou and to the untrained eye, could look "blue"

With the amount of ID requests on here where people say their find is bruising blue and it clearly isn't -- it's just wishful thinking -- I'd say it's always worth checking if one isn't sure, or, even if they think they're sure but have no experience with the suspected species.

I think once someone sees what blue bruising actually looks like, they get a better feel for it.
It's true for me, anyway.

true.
Once u see "true" blue bruising, the difference is obvious. Bruising can also be greenish in active species, and thats my favorite kind

Yes, in active Gymnopilus that I've seen on this site, I've seen it looking more green.
The gyms here in England are not active, though.

Yeah, we do. I'm not too worried about the gyms.
Liberty caps will always have a special place in my heart, in terms of mysticism, but finding a good amount can involve a lot of walking around a field hunched-over like Quasimodo. If you can find a decent cyan patch, however, then they're all in one place and plain to see -- less of an arse-ache in terms of collection.

Some of the blue-staining boletes are toxic.

To anyone stumbling on this thread from a search engine etc, bluing boletes != active.
And if you're not familiar with programming, != means "does not equal".
