So far this has been a blast learning about and I'm very grateful for this community. I waited to post until most of the jars were almost 100% colonized. One week to go until its SGFC time!

Remember to consolidate them for at least a week after full colonization. 2 weeks is better. If you don't they just sit around the chamber accumulating sporeload and drying out all the while frustrating you cause they ain't pinning.

Yes.... I saw 25 cakes do NOTHING..... I hurried a batch due to plans and wish I'd waited till I had got home. Lesson learned.

I will play it safe then and go for two weeks instead of one. If all goes well I'll be trying some cloning to agar with your easy tek! I feel like a nerdy little kid all over again.

A quick update after a week of consolidating for three of the eleven jars. Two of the three have spots that look like the below image. Is that just a more tomentose spot filling in some space between the cake and the jar?
