How many large cities have you been to, and how would you order them from your favorite to least favorite?

I've only been to a few, generally don't like cities, don't like traffic of feet or of vehicles. My favorite is the one I'm from because at least we have some level of respect for history/culture and environement. Never been to another city that has so many natural parks and unofficially sanctioned land.

A good amount, however I've been to way more natural wonders and national parks. I've been to about 10 big cities though.

Short List of big cities I've been to

L.A.,San Fransisco,Sacramento,South Beach, New and Old San Juan (Puerto Rico),Tuscon,Victoria B.C.,Anchorage and some I've driven through/been to the airports. I live in SoCal and travel a lot so I've been almost everywhere in SoCal. Every major and most minor beaches i.e. Ventura,San Diego,Venice,Santa Monica pier,Malibu,Pismo Beach,Jalama beach. Then I've been to and a lot of places in SF. Big cities like L.A or N.Y. takes decades for one person to go EVERYWHERE in the cities. They're fucking huge cities. Hell im in L.A. County and it takes over an hour to get to L.A. itself.

I love the historical sites, national parks and museums though

only 4, I could list em:
Vancouver, Calgary, Prague, Athens... that's it actually. I'm not a city person, but of those Prague is the coolest. Athens is something of a chaotic shithole, Calgary is whitebread boring, Vancouver is a mixed bag, with nice yuppie bits and then shitty asian bits where the signs are literally in Chinese, Prague is a cool mixture of artsy leftist modern buildings and medeival architecture, cathedrals and narrow alleyways and shit. Plus lots of weed and a liberal attitude towards drugs and sex which is nice.

I've been to Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

I can't stand going to Toronto, way too many people and all the buildings make me feel claustrophobic. It's pure anxiety. I would never live in a city. I'm a small town dude and I always will be.

If you're talking large cities I have spent enough time in to get to know a little (no particular order): Boston NYC SF Portland(OR) London Providence Philadelphia

I've been in tons more medium sized cities, which I tend to like more, and some other big ones that I really just spent a day or two in like Orlando Burlington Cancun

My favorite would probably have to be Portland.  It's definitely the coolest place on the west coast.  I tend to like more run down cities on the east coast, old mill towns with abandoned brick buildings, townhouses, fewer police, and less pretentiousness.  If I had to live in a city it would not be a major metropolitan one.

Many.....
Paris is cool because it is Paris and the wine/food/art/women are all amazing, plus morrisons grave, and the cemetery he is in generally.  Many famous people there.  I do not speak French well so I can't type the name of it hahaha. but it's dirty as sin.
Amsterdam, cool, also dirty and mean.
Denver is my favorite!  Kind people, beautiful, vibrant, clean.  Awesome place to stay a few months, too expensive for me.  I did some urban camping on 16th street mall for a good little bit, I was dirty, but very happy and the people were polite even to a "bum".
There are so many I could go on a long time.
But those are a few.

I been to a few but my favorite is Portland Oregon.

Its so incredible there. Art and amazing decor every corner! Shitty part is all the homeless, pretty sad and dirty. also the street people always ask for stuff. Incredible buildings, resturants, music etc.

I have the most experience in Portland thou, so likely why i like it so much.

Been to Seattle a couple times, much cleaner city, very cool place. A little more confusing there.

i hate driving in cities but walking around is pretty fun.

my third favorite is LA. really crowded and some sketchy areas but so much history and cool resturants and places. not a lot of experience there but its real nice.

Ive been to Honolulu. Place is pretty cool, huge buildings in paradise. 4th favorite.

Ive been to Reno and Las Vegas. Vegas is dope but not into gambling. Same with Reno, cool hotels but not into smoking or gambling.

almost forgot San Fran. I would say its my second favorite. Its a lot like Portland in my opinion, but even more hippie friendly.

And that seafood wharf is awesome! highly recommend. So much psychedelic history in San Fran, so awesome :awesome:

Seattle takes a bit of learning. It's not like most metropolitan areas. It's north and south. I Call all of King County the Seattle area. Including Tacoma. It's a huge area spread along the Puget sound.

Personally I didn't care much for Portland. It's ok I suppose too many homeless people and general trash.

In the USA only:

San Francisco
Los Angeles
San Diego
Seattle
Austin
Dallas
Philadelphia
Boston
New York City
Kansas City
Santa Fe
Mesa
Lake Havasu
Flagstaff
Salt Lake City
Aspen
Las Vegas
Jersey City
Washington D.C.

I am sure there are more cities that I've been to that I just can't remember for the time being.

I'm sure if I ever visited Honolulu, it would be my favorite city. But for now my top favorites are San Francisco, DC, Boston, then Seattle. In that order.

I would love to live in Georgetown, it's a beautiful district of DC. San Francisco is also very eclectic and modern and chic.

Tell you what, for as much flack as Chicago gets for being a war zone -- and it is in the bad areas -- the actual downtown is one of the coolest downtowns you'll ever come across.

It's massive. Bustling. It's the second biggest downtown in the US only behind NY. It's a true metropolis.

Chicago's a really cool town

You'll have a great time, dude. I was blown away by it. Had no idea it was that massive. And there's certainly no shortage of great bars/restaurants/sites to see & go to. Me and a couple of friends spent a few nights there like 4 years ago.

Also another great thing about Chicago is you can ride the subway to get around and then walk it to mostly anywhere you wanna go.

Yea. That's how I saw it. I got accepted. To asu and nau. And about 6 other colleges up and down the west coast.

I was wearing shorts as Phoenix was fucking hot but the grand Canyon was freezing. But I did drive around flagstaff. Beautiful it reminded me of home. Alaska.

The first time I was in Seattle I was like a kid in a candy store. The buildings are so tall. Anchorages downtown has 2 not all that tall buildings. I'm used to it now but man I was on one. I was 20 at that time.

I went down here for my cousins wedding. Spent 2 days just mobbing around. Some guy was trying to get me to donate to the red cross and I just sat down looking straight up and couldnt see the top of the building.

Ma was like you want to go to sisters college graduation in Wisconsin. Eh. We're going to go to Chicago Illinois. Yes take my money sounds fun.

 Yep, I had a similar experience when I was in Chicago. I mean I've been to big cities before (Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Denver, etc.), but nothing like Chicago (haven't been to NY yet).

I just remember walking downtown, and looking up -- I could barely see the damn sky. All I could see from every angle were skyscrapers sky high all around me.

I was like

I've been to Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Berlin, Ankara, and Vancouver.

Vancouver was my favourite, man. So much space and green in a big city, it was unreal.

I do enjoy walking around wrecked in Amsterdam, tho.

I never been West. I knew Chicago my whole life.I liked Boston cause I met up with Dropkick Murphy's connections there, and got treated great. Atlanta was pretty nice. Miami is cool , but if you don't know what your're doing it's a very expensive tourist town.

I was like

:barbershreds:

Ya I was just baffled and so invigorated by the city. There are people everywhere! All the time. But I lived in Seattle for a bit it really isn't that big. But that baffled me. At first.

I get really excited about such things.  So I'm definitely excited to experience an east coast city like Chicago. Haha I'm going to get super lost but that's a OK with me.

Once you're in Europe, you can travel all throughout Europe very cheaply with the EU rail. If you're under 25, train rides between EU countries are unlimited for 3 months, and you can get this pass for $600.

Same thing with Asia. If you make it to one Asian country, you can pretty much travel to any neighboring Asian country for roughly $100 per flight. So if you're in Thailand, you can travel to Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Phillipines for pretty cheaply.

That's the smart way to travel. That, and you should choose countries where the currency is weaker than the dollar at the time, so that you get more bang for your buck.

The most expensive one was Australia, not just because the flight is so expensive, but because everything at the store is also much more expensive because all goods basically have to be shipped there. It sucks Australia is so far away, it's my favorite country that I've visited. But I can't imagine going back again without exploring Latin America or South Africa first.

My next vacation destination will be Costa Rica. If everything pans out I hope to be there by March next year.

I forgot I've been to a couple more cities: Okinawa, Kobe, and Osaka. Okinawa is probably my favorite of all time, I imagine it to be just like Hawaii but even more secluded. So much privacy, it's like you're on your own private beach.

There are constantly travel deals circulating online. I see 10 day China tours with airfare for $1500, 1 week Iceland resort stay with airfare for $600, etc., you just have to look around.

My sister did a year abroad in Brazil. Speaks fluent Portuguese now. Basically has a second family there she came home last Christmas and she spent more time skyping with them than talking to her actual family.

Mom was in the hospital last time I talked to her she was in Amsterdam. I think she's back at School now. Well no we've been arguing about the Trump election. So she definitely is back in Wisconsin.

That's awesome, Sao Paolo is one of my top 3 cities I'd like to visit most. Brazil is definitely a country I'd like to see some time, I just know it's dangerous there so I probably wouldn't go without some friends or a boyfriend or something.

That's awesome your sister travels a lot. You never visited her while she's in any of these countries? You should! You'll have the time of your life.

Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Quebec city, Orlando, Puerto Vallarta, Atlanta, Washington DC, Fort Lauderdale, another one in The US which I can't seem to remember right now.

I'm gonna have to go with my home town of Ottawa as my favorite. Sure it's where fun goes to die, but I still love it.

Lived in NYC for 16 years and it is the best city by far that I've ever seen or been to. Public transportation is amazing, plus all that is available to see and do 24/7 in terms of music, art, and culture. Although many of the other other cities I have visited have something unique and special about them, nothing in the US can touch NYC, imo.

I have also spent time in Montreal, Barcelona, Madrid, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia, Nashville...Some other smaller cities as well like Tampa. Orlando, St. Petersburg, Jacksonville, Santa Fe, Portland, ME.

I would say that Montreal and San Francisco are my favorite cities other than New York, but Miami and Seattle are pretty awesome too.

I'm excited to check out more international cities over the next few years especially Paris and London.

My favorite cities are:
Vancouver, BC
San Francisco
Milan
Venice
Montreal
Chicago
Atlanta
Calgary
Denver

I much prefer National parks over cities though...Yellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier (even though there won't be a glacier in Glacier park much longer)

Amsterdam
Atlanta
Austin
Baghdad
Baton rouge
Berlin
Daytona
Frankfurt
Gainesville
Houston
Jacksonville*
Lake city
Miami
Nashville
Orlando
San antonio
St. Perersberg, fl
Tampa
I'm sure there are more.

I've never been to San Fran. I've driven from AZ to San Diego beautiful drivers are fucking nuts. I'd rather be in a white out blizzard than drive in socal again. Than drove to Vegas. I don't really care for Vegas. I felt scared driving. I've never felt like that.

Los Angeles is the big city.  It takes two hours on the freeway to get from the ocean to Palm Springs.  They don't call it all Los Angeles, but it's nonstop city for that long.  There are some cities in China of similar size.  One in every ten Americans live in Southern California.

I call King County. Which is a ton of small towns that grew into each other. Like Phoenix. Tempe etc etc. But it's the Seattle area Phoenix area. big cities own them. I honestly don't know where actual Phoenix is. I tried to find it.

My friend and I think in downtown. And went to an art fair. Watched some kid get beat the fuck up for stealing and that was when I realized I really wanted to go home.

Don't go to Arizona it's a filthy city. Northern is OK. Phoenix is filthy. Why am I on vacation here. Gross.
