Has anyone moved out of the USA with their entire family to live somewhere else and never regretted

Has anyone moved out of the USA with their entire family to live somewhere else and never regretted it or looked back?
The title says it all.
The USA is described as the best country to live in. Yet the cost of existing here is beyond ridiculous. Is there a paradise beyond here? Or is it all hype?

Sorry mate, the only time you will find that America is regarded as the "best place to live" is when surveying Americans. Look up lists of best countries based on all different types of parameters and you will be hard pressed to find the states at the top of any of them.

I think the Scandinavian countries are a great place to live. They produce very proud and happy people. USA as a whole, I wouldn't rank with the best..but certain states are very nice. I suppose it largely depends on your personal values as to how you would rank the best places to live.

Where are you planning on moving? The US is mostly pretty cool. I like how vast and beautiful it is.
If I was running from the law it would probably be to Peru, in a town with nice weather. I'm having trouble thinking of somewhere else I would want to live. Maybe Iceland. Canada is like little America with shit weather

I'll probably live nowhere else but here. I know the US, I know very little of other countries though. I was however looking at this:
http://www.usnews.com/news/best-countries/overall-full-list
Yet, the reasons for the list aren't explained. Oh well though, I don't know any better then where I am now. So possibly I shouldn't ask about what I won't experience. Curiosity though is leading me off a cliff.
I have a habit of packing up and taking off and exhausting myself beyond my means. Good thing Germany is beyond my reach.

Canada is terrible and it is full of death snow and polar bears. Also the cell phone providers are terrible. Don't come here.

Well you don't want to move to Canada. It's full of snow mexicans and you'll get raped by polar bears and moose.

Humans can find peace and contentment in even the most abhorrent conditions given the proper use of mental facilities. Finding happiness outside of any one country on a planet this vast is surely possible. There are too many resources available for research to not make a pretty informed decision.

I've done this twice. Very relevant question to my life lately. I grew up in arizona till I was about 12 and my parents moved me to africa and that was alright, I learned french but the culture and relative decency is different than the US, I had good friends and lived near the jungle, had a dog and a cat and good friends and was happy, I also had a garden. We stayed there 2 years. When I moved back I appreicated the US so much more, and for all the shit thats bad in the country there is much worse shit in most other countries, just other countries don't give a flying fuck so it never makes the news.
Then, mid highschool, after having moved back to Arizona my parents took me to Beirut, Lebanon and god damn, its a dirty city with no nature and the people are close minded as fuck, and everyone cares so much about social class and are so vein.
I think it will make me appreciate whats to come, I'm headed off to college soon, but US life for the most part is super easy.
I think having some places with nature close is essential, I think the developped countries like canada and europe, and new zealand would be cool to go to, but for the most part fuck other places. I love the US.
So yes I have twice and all it does is make me appreciate life in the US

I was dealing/ doing drugs (my parents had left me) in the US, so thats the real reason I moved, sort of a wakeup call, I was very dumb
If I could go back I wouldn't change the moves or anything tho, it made me stronger and appreciate more, also I have a better perspective on a lot of things

At least you learned how great it is here compared to those places.
Are there any pros to living somewhere else besides here? Or are they all cons in comparison?

I tend to hear this a lot, but even the other countries often considered by some metrics preferable to the US have their downsides. For sheer variety the US is hard to beat. I know a lot of Americans who live in Canada permanently, they all seem ok, I notice they don't talk about moving back That said there are also tons of Canadians who've moved to the US and are perfectly happy, the two countries really aren't that different. As for the rest of the world I can only guess.

I don't doubt it, I'm just saying I don't know enough to assert that as truth, but indeed, from what I know, america would not be my top choice of countries to live in. It'd be in the top 10 though for sure.

As has been said it comes down the states/cities really.
The USA has plenty of really cool states and cities as well as its fair share of crap.
I am lucky enough to live in a great state overall but I still would love to explore the rest of the world. Americans just like to assume we are the best when in reality there are better places in almost every regard.
We are just a huge country so we have a lot of the best/ worst parts of society.

for sure, and the same for other places too. Like I'd live in Oregon pretty comfortably, parts of California or Washington state, but I wouldn't want to be stuck in the middle or south, or the east coast, and similarly I liek B.C. alright but I'd hate to live in Alberta or *shudder* Saskatchewan or Manitoba....

Exactly. I would much rather live in the nicer parts if Canada or Africa or Europe then one of the USA's many backwoods shitholes or giant overcrowded cities... The PNW is great for sure as are some other random states and parts of many states. But there are plenty of horrid shitholes too full of racist/ sexist people amongst other scumbags.
Parts of central and southern America would be amazing to explore.

Personally, I don't like Oregon anymore.
How would you rate Germany though? Is it a country with just less of the best/worst parts of society? What's so different about it though from the US?

What don't you like about OR? Just like everywhere there are good and bad parts
I have never been to Germany and don't know much about its current state so I can't say really. My grandma speaks German and lived there for a little I think. Germany probably has its good and bad parts as well honestly.
