It seems like black mold might be common with this strain, as seen in Ohmatic's pictures. One of my dishes shows black mold, and the other seems healthy.  What do you think?

no. it's common with poor sterile technique though, and also with prints of fruits grown in tubs that are shitting the bed.

I got the prints from Amsterdam, and am hoping that I can improve my sterile technique with the remaining two.  I used a flame and alcohol to sterilize my tools, do you have any other suggestions?

You should try doing a warm pour of agar after inoculating dishes. That'd be your best bet for getting some clean growth, if it's that bad. Also, try to use very few spores.

Don't use alcohol. ..flame is all ya need.

I used a hot box and just cleaned it with alcohol and used flame on my tools.
