Why is my opiate tolerance so high?

So, I've been doing opiates for 5+ years, but the longest binge ive ever gone on was when I first got some hydros, I did like 20-30mg everyday for a week. I've only done oxycodone a few times (less than 15), the first time I did it I used like 20mg and felt AMAZING, like one of the best feelings I've ever gotten from a drug.
Anyway, I only used opiates like 3 or 4 times the first year I tried opiates after that 1 week binge.
The second year I used hydros like 12 or 13 times.
The third year I decided to up my dose and try to feel like I felt that first time on oxies, and took 65mg hydrocodone. I got really damn close.
Back to using once a month, but I discovered poppy seed tea and have been using 2-3 pounds per batch like once every month or two since then. Now I'm hardly getting anything from 2-3 pounds of seeds, tried 40mg hydrocodone the other day and felt basically nothing.
A few months ago I got my hands on some perocets, took like 50mg and felt good, but it didnt compare to that first time on 20mg.
How can such infrequient use boost my tolerance so high? Time to try heroin? (done it once, got weak shit, would like to smoke some tar though).

You're already chasing a high and you want to try heroin? Give your head a shake man. And be careful randomly upping PST doses, holy fuck.

I'm not really randomly upping doses, I always use the same amount and drink the tea very slowly to make sure its not randomly super potent.

Nah, I'm super paranoid about opiate overdoses so I always make sure I'm careful.
Like when I talked about going from 20-65mg hydrocodone a few years ago, I took my dosing really slowly to make sure I could handle it.
Thats also why I'd like to try smoking tar, I hear its much harder to OD with that ROA

I dont really think the amount of time has much to do with it, because I normally dont dose more then once a month (with a few exceptions )
I guess a better question would be why didnt my tolerance drop at all in the 4 months I didnt use opiates this year.

Tolerance develops rapidly to the analgesic effects of the drug and can be produced by several different mechanisms, but in the case of morphine or heroin, tolerance develops at the level of the cellular targets. For example, when morphine binds to opiate receptors, it triggers the inhibition of an enzyme (adenylate cyclase) that orchestrates several chemicals in the cell to maintain the firing of impulses. After repeated activation of the opiate receptor by morphine, the enzyme adapts so that the morphine can no longer cause changes in cell firing.
There a few things you could try:
1. White grape fruit juice with the Oxycodone
Quote:
Grapefruit juice alters the concentrations of many CYP3A substrates. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of grapefruit juice on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oral oxycodone in a randomized cross-over study with two phases at an interval of 4 weeks. Twelve healthy volunteers ingested 200 ml of grapefruit juice or water t.i.d. for 5 days. An oral dose of oxycodone hydrochloride 10 mg was administered on day 4. Oxycodone, noroxycodone, oxymorphone and noroxymorphone concentrations were analysed from the plasma samples for 48 hr and behavioural and analgesic effects were recorded for 12 hr. Grapefruit juice increased the mean area under the oxycodone concentration-time curve (AUC(0-∞) ) by 1.7-fold (p<0.001), the peak plasma concentration by 1.5-fold (p<0.001) and the half-life of oxycodone by 1.2-fold (p<0.001) as compared to the water.
2. Agmatine supplement
3. DXM

also mementine. from my research it's the most effective drug for reducing opiate tolerance.
