We are viewing life in 2D
    #23832283 - 11/14/16 01:39 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

We are living in a 3d physical plane viewing it in 2D.

pretty trippy

it's interesting how our vision views things as a painting but with depth.

Lets discuss dimensions.

0 dimension? Possibly void emptiness?
1st dimension? Space?
2nd dimension? Idk?
3rd dimension? Idk?
4th dimension? Light?
5th dimension? Light?

Add your input on the different t dimensions and what they equate.

Our vision is in 2.5D

It's 2 dimensional plus depth which isn't a full 3rd dimention, more like half a dimension.

No. we are viewing life in the third dimension.

1st dimension is a line drawn between two different points of indeterminate size and orientation. the second dimension adds in width... the third dimension adds in height... the fourth dimension adds in duration, something we can also perceive.

take a look at this video, and things will be a little more clear to you.

We are not viewing life in 3d... you cannot see the the 360 of an object. Only the front although you know there is a back.

Btw yes those dimensions make sense in drawing and construction but im talking about thereotical phsyics.

Also duration is not the 4th dimension because time is an illusion.

That's a cool video, I've seen it in the past. However the use of the word dimensions can have many meanings. You can have spatial dimensions which there are arguably only 3 that we know of, and 4 spatial planes that can exist within the mind but not in a physical object. People consider time a dimension, but it's not a spatial one. So there are two different (major) kinds of 4th dimensions, spatial and other. You could apply the word dimension to other things as well, beyond spatial and time.

I think what Broly was getting at is that the images that hit our eyes is a 2d image, but that we perceive the image itself as 3d because we exist as a collection of several 2d images that change because of our 3d space. In a way, you could argue that our perception of 3 dimensional planes is only a thing because time itself exists.

Think of it like a kodak photo. It's arguably a 2D image. Our mind just allows that image to take on 3 dimensions because of our understanding of what's within.

Time is not a spatial dimension, but it is arguably needed to give 3 dimensions of life to otherwise flat images.

The sense of touch is a sense that has 3 dimensions too. But if there were no time and we were stuck in one place forever, would the complete lack of movement mean that the tactile sense were flat? Could you flatten out that three dimensional space? I think this is what people are getting at when they say that the universe is holographic in nature - that it's flat in specific moments, but that our mind gives rise to 3 dimensional space through the combination of our senses from one point to another and the phenomena of time passing.

I dont think its mean 360 degrees.i think its the fact we can see depth of objects compared to the face and width of 2d objects

hmm, never thought of it that way... very interesting

but isn't time also a quality of spatial dimension(s)? so therein it would also be spatial in nature? maybe that's what you were getting at in the latter bit of that post

Ye I think youre right , I was thinking of viewing things in 4d. Because at that point you would see all sides of an object.

I believe there's an animation of 4d. It's a cube I believe turning inside out.
