So the dry cubensis and dry allenii are completely covered in bacteria. I threw those out.
The fresh allenii are ok for the moment. Some pieces have bacteria surrounding them. Can I get some advice on how/when to transfer these to new agar plates? For most of the pieces the mycelium seems to be airborne, and the mycelium touching the agar plate is not taking off as well. From the looks of it, the chunks in contact with the agar are slightly contaminated with bacteria. Should I try to scrape the "airborne" mycelium onto new plates to clean it up? Any input helps.

Hard to tell from this photo but you can kind of make out that the chunk in contact with agar has bacteria.

Here is the plate upside down:

I just saw this thread. I have successfully grown from dried azurescens fruits. I picked the fruits in the wild from the washington coast. Dehydrated without taking prints. I was a noob and didn't think they would grow outside of the natural environment.
I realized I could grow them in the puget sound area. So I decided to try and get soores from the gills of the dehydrated fruits that were about 6 months old. I put the fruit, a pair of tweezers and a petri dish in the sab. I flame sterilized the tweezers and pluck a small piece of the gill tissue. Then placed it on the dish. It grew first try and after a few transfers was clean. This process resulted in the azzies in my avatar. They are still going and I just add new chips in the winter. I tried getting a culture from colonized woodchips on agar that was a fail every time.
