Mushroom species for 5 grams in silent darkness

Does anyone know what species Mckenna was referring to when talking about '5 grams in silent darkness'? From research my understanding is that it was stropharia cubensis. I am preparing for the experience but I only have access to Liberty Caps and would like to equate the dosage. I've asked the question elsewhere and have been told it's literally any active strain. Surly the experience would differ to some extent due to the wide range of potency between different mushroom strains? Any info is greatly appreciated, cheers.

I believe he was referring to what are now commonly called cubes, liberty caps are not the same species but are in the same genus as many other actives

it's been awhile but last I remembered about 15-20 fresh was a perceptible amount, they're not as potent by weight but enough of anything will get results

Tripping in darkness and silence is great, but have music and a night light ready if you start thinking they're are monsters under your bed.

Just saw your post on facebook, McKenna used cubensis, libery caps and cyanescens are generally twice as potent, use half the dried weight. 2.5 or 3g should be plenty sufficient. Set and setting will play a way bigger role than dose.
