Found in the Bay area. Noob on third hunt. I finally think I found a few after many hours of searching!!
There is bruising as seen in the images. I'm just not sure about the spore print. The spore print was done for only a couple hours. It's hard to discern the color (for me anyway).
But, the macroscopic features seem to be right. All these, including the dried out ones were found very close to each other. If any of them appear incorrect, it would be lovely to set me straight.
Thank you so much from a new mushroom lover! There is so much knowledge and kindness here.

Thank you David!! I really appreciate the ID, especially from you, as I have read and learned from so many of your posts! You are a master at hunting these down. Finding these were largely due to all the pics that you've shared.
I also gave it a good watering down with a couple bottles of water I had on me. :P
Maybe next time, I'll leave the little ones be. Btw, our hunting grounds are very far from each other. I'm way more south!
Thanks again!

My pleasure, really, and thanks for the nice words which have reinvigorated me after a long day's hunt. You did right in this case in taking everything including the youngest. We have at least another dry week ahead of us, so any left wouldn't fare well anyway, and the patch is better off completely relaxing.
Btw, I currently hunt as far south as Fremont...and am thinking to push that to San Jose. Still way more south?

The compliments are well deserved.
Very interesting to know that the mycellium would benefit from its fruit being picked during a dry period.
Not quite that south. Palo Alto/Mountain View. I didn't know that you went all the way down to Fremont!
Happy hunting.

If I find more, I'll share in the 2016 Bay actives thread.
All the "right" wood chips had lots of psathyrella, and I even spotted several red cage mushrooms. It took me a while to get these. Partly because I'm new, and partly because of the dry weather.
