Everclear extraction info

I usually ask a million questions on this site. Today I thought I'd contribute my thoughts for a change. Maybe it will help someone. If you have dried cactus powder and are going to go the alcohol extraction route, I have a change to the tek that seems to work very well for me. For the record I use everclear 190 proof. But this technique can be used with ISO as well. I don't remember the teks name but I'm referring to the one where you put powder in the jar pour in alcohol and shake . You would than shake whenever you get the chance . Do this for three days . A total of three pulls and total of nine days is what it calls for. It says to combine all 3 pulls and than begin the evaporation. This is where I have the problem. When u evaporate all 3 pulls at once, it develops too thick a layer of solids when done. I believe this layer cannot fully dry and your left with a sticky mess called tar. It's very hard to work with and people add flour just to try and use it. It is nasty. What I've tried is evaporate each pull separately. It dries pretty quickly and leaves a thin layer on the dish. Takes about 24 hours to dry and than I give another 24 to do its thing. The result is almost a powder consistency. Very flaky and dry. Much easier to work with. I wear a glove to keep the oil on my hands from getting on it. No need to add flour . I just kind of squeeze it to shape it and put into my capsules. It's so much better this way. Try it ,you won't be disappointed. Oh and I figure there's less waste this way. Sometimes with that sticky gunk from the other method I lose some because I get frustrated with it being so messy.

Many thanks. Good timing on this too since I have 48" in my food dehydrator right now.

Here's a pic so you can see what I mean. It rolls easily and it's easy to put into caps. Dry and flaky

Looks good. So I see that you're supposed to evaporate each pull separately but what do you do once they have fully dried? Do you combine the 3 or do you still keep it separate?

No I don't combine. As each pull dries out completely i than scrape it up. I'll put it in capsules and clean the dish really well so it's ready for the next pull. The pic I took was from the final pull. The first 2 pulls had more material. Dusty are you using everclear 190 proof ? It's probably hard to find in NYC. I live near nj and it's legal their .
P.s doing it this way, you shouldn't need to add flour or anything . Very easy to work with

Yeah it's 190 proof. It wasn't easy to find!
